The 3D platform-adventure game from publisher and developer Nintendo - Super Mario Odyssey - has reached a new sales milestone, according to our estimates. The game has surpassed three million units sold worldwide at retail.
This will become the best selling 3D Mario game
I totally agree! I love this game
I had the chance to play it yesterday for about 30 mins. Man...this game is masterclass in gameplay design. The movement fluidity its with out a doubt the best I have ever experienced! I really need a Switch.
I agree with you.. but still has a ways to go yet. Mario 64 reached almost 12 million units sold.
Odyssey will be the game to get with a Switch until the latter gets replaced, so I' m fairly certain it can surpass 12million units sold (lifetime).
@UltraNova - yep.. you figure the attach rate for this game will be ridiculously high, so it definitely has a great chance to surpass Mario 64.
I'm honestly shocked that Mario 64 number isn't higher. That was THE game to get on N64 for so long.
@ Neo Super Mario Galaxy is the current record holder at 12.75 million sold
ahh.. fair enough, thanks. I completely forgot to check that game for some reason
So this means the game has sold much more as it has been out for like 8-9 weeks??...lol.
My last paycheck was $2500 for working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 8k for months now and she works about 30 hours a week. I can't believe how easy it was once I tried it out. The potential with this is endless. This is what I do >> http://www.fl-y.com/3qx0
How many moons do you have in Odyssey??
Beat it last week. Amazing and very fun game.
Great game, Nintendo is back
While doom sells 81k... Yup, looks like the same nintendo.
Nintendo is not the MS or Sony. Their games have always been the biggest sellers on their platforms while on Sony's or MS platforms 3rd party multiplayer shooters are usually the biggest sellers. This happens because Nintendo's 1st party is by far the strongest of the big 3. A quick look at the best selling games of all time is all that one needs to realise this https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...
Ok so now that most nintendos biggest 1st partys launched (mario, mario kart, zelda, splatoon 2), whats really left for 2018? Ssm, yoshi, kirby?
Sk8ofmnd Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Bayonetta 3, Possibly Metriod, Exclusive Tales of, Possibly SMTV, and other games that we haven’t known and will not know until this month’s Direct.
Pokemon, a game that could easily be the biggest game of the year if it takes advantage of the Switch hardware and even if it doesn't its a franchise that sells around 15 million copies per game (mainline ones). Do you know how many Sony and MS 1st party games sold close to this number? I can only think of one from Sony: GT3.
..Switch's Doom, matched the attach rate of the games first week on the HD Twins. Maybe better when including digital sales😉
That poor soul probably doesn't even know what an attach rate is.
@sk8ofmnd, Ok Buzzkillington, wanna look at etchings? This dude is holding onto not so bad news as bad news because Nintendo is killing it. How desperate can one get lol.
Absolutely amazing game. It's definitely one of my favourite games last year (that feels strange to say, can't believe it's 2018) HZD and BOTW are also at the top, it's hard to pick one but these 3 games alone are amazing.
Single player games dont sell they said. Online only games are the only big sellers they said. Nintendo is dead they said. Their delusions are massive
hopefully they will make a version for 3ds, cutdown ofc, but you know ninty can work their magics on older systems cos only they can! ;)
That won’t be happening. The 3DS support is slowing down, and I bet that this year will be the last year the 3DS get any *major* exclusives support from Nintendo.
I feel bad because I up to new donk city and completely stopped playing because I started Skyrim again. The Zelda DLC is also keeping me busy. I will get back to it tho, Phenominal game so far.
Best selling 3D Mario game, here we come.
