WiiU, while being a really good system, just wasn't taken seriously by gamers and that is a shame. Nintendo knew early on it wasn't doing so well and instead of being price competitive they just let it suffer. At least they are turing things around with the Switch.

Wow, you think Wii u was a good system? Wii u was and is rubbish. Switch is better than the Wii u but it's lacking games already just like the Wii u and a lot of the games already are literally being hampered by the weak hardware. Zelda botw is a good game which I have but it's still doesn't look as good as the original Zelda Wii u tech demo. Zelda which is almost a 40year old franchise should be up to the standards of a witcher 3. Ocarina of time is my favourite Zelda game and it is a marvel for the time it came out but truthfully botw isn't really a marvel in today's time and it's mostly because of the hardware of the switch. I know the switch is more powerful than the ps vita that came out in 2012 but the games or what I've seen for the switch doesn't show that.

Wii U had some great games. Many of them are being ported to Switch. Now Switch just needs Wonderful 101, Xenoblade X and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. Wii U had a great but limited library.

JaguarEvolved2735d ago

The switch needs more games that aren't Wii u ports. I have a switch and Zelda botw but I haven't seen any upcoming games that I'm interested in other than metroid 4 which might be coming out in 2019. I have a ps4 which has a lot of new AAA games to play now and in the future with a lot of exclusive games to play now and in the near future that we know about. The switch needs a lot of games and it needs new games that are third party games and exclusive. Bayonetta 3 is coming which is nice but Nintendo needs to do a lot better. The ps4 has a lot of old ports from previous generation but it has a lot of games

Jesus christ the Switch has just been released less than one year. You think games take only 1 day to make?

I hate it when people say the Switch has little games, when there in fact are so many games to choose from.

Gemmol2735d ago

No they did not let it suffer they knew it was over so they did not drop the price this is why it was profitable the last 2.5 years

So even tho it didn't get the customers, it did get money

Knushwood Butt2734d ago

It was sold at a loss for a long time prior to that.

trunkswd2735d ago

It won't take much longer for the Switch to outsell the Wii U. A big turnaround for Nintendo.

PhoenixUp2736d ago

Wii U is one of be biggest failures for a major console

Gemmol2735d ago

No because it made profit, other companies would lower the cost of the system to help the situation while Nintendo was smart left it same price and pick up money, it was profitable the last 2.5 years without needing a game sale

PhoenixUp2735d ago

Yes because even Nintendo regards it as a failure.

Nintendo couldn’t drop the Wii U’s price even if they wanted because of how expensive the Gamepad was.

Even so keeping a $300 pricepoint its entire lifetime wasn’t smart since that’s a big reason it failed in the first place. Imagine what would’ve happened if Nintendo kept 3DS at $250.

kevnb2735d ago

people didnt understand what the wii u was, the switch doesnt have this problem.

Segata2735d ago

Switch also has good hardware for what it is unlike Wii U and great marketing unlike Wii U.

nice improvement to the clarity. Really makes everything look less blurry, especially in the distance.

really hope we see more free improvements like this on Switch 1 games.

Jin_Sakai21h ago

First game I played on Switch 2. Much sharper and cleaner image compared to the original.

Cacabunga5h ago

I won’t be able to notice difference unless both versions are side by side

Snookies1220h ago

A lot of games that have no official Switch 2 update already run WAY better just from the hardware itself. It's fantastic getting to play all these games in a much better state. So glad I hardly played any of my Switch collection over the years, lol. This will make experiencing them for the first time so much better.

Levii_9220h ago

A nice resolution upgrade to one of my fav games but i’m still not buying the Switch “2”

darthv7219h ago(Edited 19h ago)

This and Mario/Bowser are ones I will pop in later. I hope other devs offer some patches, like xenon racer on SW1 is 30fps and it really is better at 60.

Goodguy0119h ago(Edited 19h ago)

Great it was 60 frames on switch 1 though. Definitely sacrificed resolution however.

Neonridr18h ago

I mean it targeted 60 on the Switch 1, but it wasn't always solid.

GhostScholar17h ago

I’ll never know why fans let Nintendo get away with not competing graphically and never putting their games on sale.

Chard14h ago

Unfortunately the games are fun. They’ve got us by the balls

GhostScholar13h ago

I’m a fan of their exclusives as well but if the hardware had the same capabilities as the x and ps5 and I could have all the third party stuff plus the Nintendo exclusives it would be my main console

Neonridr2h ago

@GhostScholar - if the Switch 2 had the same capabilities as the X and PS5 it would cost over $1000 and the battery would last for 5 minutes.
