AO Tennis will run at native 4K with HDR support on Xbox One X, while PlayStation 4 Pro is stuck at 1080p resolution. Both consoles will output the game at a constant 60fps with increased texture resolution.
The developers are also looking at a possible port for the Nintendo Switch.
Rarely watch the actual sport, but I love tennis games. Hopefully some of the ones coming out this year turn out to be good!
I love playing actual tennis but not a fan of watching it or playing it in video games. Although it is the one game type I do enjoy motion controls with. But with a controller, no thanks.
Top Spin was an amazing game. Tennis World Tour should be more like it than this one though.
Yet another lazy attempt to make a game. If it can run 4k/60fps on xbonex there is zero reason why it can at the very least be 1440p/60fps on ps4 pro. The X is nowhere near that many orders of magnitude more powerful.

Maybe is time to ask Cerny why this is happening? Somehow Xbox One X ehancements is getting better and better as most games are/will run a native 4K while PS4 Pro enhancements are getting worst. Most games used to run a at least 1440p. Now we´re getting games running at native 4K on the X and 1080p on the Pro.
Maybe because they're already outselling anything 4K... being at 1080p?! ;)
Maybe Cerny was right keeping tech to 'this gen' instead of 4K-ing Pong n' Tetris XD :D ... with a sweet price range? Working only at resolutions and color richness etc. is paying off it seems. A whole year late offering and with that higher price point (1x) is still not outselling any game than PS4/Pro's versions.
Well, you can see this ^^^ is what is happening. That 4K didn't really fly off and still the best looking console thingy remains on PS4... and even non-pro version as well ;) right besides HZD, U4 and the 'whole' lot of new gfx tech coming up in successive exclusives ;)

Really do really believe that? Does any gamer with experience believes that the pro just can reach 1080p in a tennis game? or other crappy games like last week?
This kind of stuff and BC are now the only two «weapons» that the team Microsoft use to attack Sony and try to downplay the reality in videogaming.
Look at the comments here? Only gamers with no understanding of gaming believe that the X (6 teraflops) is 4 times more powerfull then the PRO (4.2 teraflops).
I'm talking technically. It really is bring outclassed in terms of multiplats. I'm not talking exclusives. That's a whole different discussion.

Heh, yep Pro or 1x, both being pointless to go to as Pro is weak and 1x is overpriced and devoid of cutting-edge technology or a developed market with 4K TVs flying about (and what's 1x worth w/o a 4K TV? ;) )...
So yeah all the way vanilla PS4 baby, the whole 'new gfx tech' is fully realized in plain PS4 too (wow loved that digital foundry article on the appreciation of new god of war 4 technology), when you get the latest and most beautiful console games in 249$... why both any next-gen wannabes ;)
I do wonder if it's something to do with sales rather than power ect. We don't know how many pros have been sold or Xbox 1 X's that have been sold only thing to go off is that Microsoft came out and said the launch was better than the pros. Now how many new Xbox one s Vs Xbox one X are being sold and the same for the PS4 Vs PS4 pro. I don't know many People with a pro but know more with a X. Again not saying that's what's going on but you do have to wonder wish less and less pro Rez games being made
Which is odd. Yeah, the X is more powerful, but there are tons of Pro games that surpass 1080p.
But it's a tennis game. So what. 4k tennis balls and rackets? Yeah, amazing.
The only reason the difference is this massive is because they're not doing the work for the Pro. No way this game couldn't run at 1800p on Pro.
The X is going to outclass the Pro always on resolution and performance, but the developers are being lazy on the Pro. Which is funny since a lot of people were concerned the X would be held back by the Pro due to parity.
you gotta wonder though, is it just that much easier to get that output out of the onex with the power + dev tools MS provides? There had to be more to the reason one is 4k and the other is 1080p
At that level of disparity, sorry, the reason is solely laziness. And the tools they provide is DX12, which are great tools, but Sony also provides good tools (just not as good). Developers have said as much. But, in the end, if you're not designing a game for the Pro you should just say what you're putting out on PS4. It would be more honest.

Read the article again. One, they absolutely never mentioned upgraded graphic settings. Two, they said increased texture resolution, which is 1080p->4k. Perhaps the journalist made a mistake, but they never said increased texture quality.
But, even then, why not offer 4k w/o increased texture quality? Why not 1440p w/increased texture quality?
Other sport games run at 4k on the Pro and X, with better performance on the X.
I get you're trying to argue for the developer here and trying to make the idea that the X is easier to develop, but at the same time you are also arguing that it's okay for them to not develop for the potential of each platform. That last part is something I don't agree with and never will. The X deserves its attention for 4k, but the other platforms deserve the attention they are capable of delivering upon as well. I've said the same when the XBO was delivering 720p for Titanfall and not 900p, I'll continue to say the same for any future platforms.

Different engines, different results. Could be some memory or memory bandwidth limitation on Pro´s side. I think its silly to think that every game running at 1080p on Pro is lazy work.
Matterfall is PS4 indie/platformer exclusive and runs at 1080p on Pro and 900p on the base PS4. The level of disparity is 1080p vs 900p when the difference in power between the two systems is 4.2Tf vs 1.8Tf.

That would make sense if the disparity between those were vastly different, they are not. The largest difference between the systems is terraflops. The rest is closer in spec. This doesn't equate to 4x better resolution. The fact that other titles reach higher prove this.

Actually, the opposite. The Pro is less than the X, but do people honestly believe it's only capable of 1080p with a sports game? Just to note, FIFA18 and Madden 18 are 4k on the Pro and X.
Yea pretty much was thinking the same. Way more demanding games are 4k on PS4. HZD has some of the best graphics and its 4k on the pro.
On a side note I enjoy tennis and would buy this if the price is right.

Considering the reviews on CB4K when the pro came out and having seen it.
I was thinking... In terms of effort put into and returns gained. May be this game is done mostly to sell on base ps4 and not pro or may be this game will continue in Xbox marketplace/store after this generation due to BC and not on ps store or hardware was not supporting on PS for full 4k without compromises.
Oh man, a Switch tennis game with good motion control would be killer. I miss Wii Tennis!
