Skyrim VR review \ One More Level

The story starts of an unknown character, a man (you) sitting a carriage tied up with other fellows having the same fate as you have (for unknown reason.)
You arrive to the little rural village and all the prisoners from the carriage is executed one by one because of their crimes they have made. One try to run but he is shot dead by an arrowest.

While I would't give the game 5/5 due to the bugs and poor graphics (though reasonable for VR in an open world), there isn't really an experience like it. It's so immersive despite the poor graphics, and the combat implementation is much better than expected. If you really want to get encapsulated in the world of Skyrim, this is the way to go. So much fun.

the immersion breaks every few moments due to the nature of the game was designed as a conventional experience. these kind of ports no one needs. it's like those very cheap 3D movies where movies from the 80s had been treated afterwards with a very bad alibi 3D effect. i mean, it's "nice" (skyrim vr) to see the world for a few short moments... until the eyecancer sets in. i would never play this game in its entirety in VR. but i wonder how many more times they are going to milk this game. maybe they can release a version for the apple watch. or a version for a coffee machine display. seriously ridiculous.

The Switch version is actually good. I play it portable mostly and the framerate rarely drop and the performance in general is great. This is one of the few times when Skyrim port make sense.

Actually Bethesda did an excellent job and the game works exceptionally well in VR. It's getting good reviews and more so, ppl are loving it. It's a VR hit and it's exactly what we need in VR, legit AAA games, particularly open world rpgs. It is truly incredible stepping into the world of Skyrim and it breathes new life into the game. Did you even play the game? If anything, Skyrim VR gets better as you go, especially once you get the combat down. That was the surprising thing, after the opening hours you just want to immerse yourself in the world even more, it really doesn't get old, it gets better. Obviously it isn't the prettiest version of the game, but it's a full 100 hr, AAA, open world fantasy RPG in VR and it's spectacular. I would love more games like this in VR.

It's averaging about 8/10 on Metacritic and more so, ppl are absolutely loving it. It's a full AAA, open world rpg in VR with free movement, what's not to like?

I don't, however I find it annoying how they keep releasing these and not even adding new content or new dlc which would at least make the wait between the next sequels a bit less awful.

It's a huge deal for VR, we need huge publishers bringing their AAAs to VR. How is it even relevant to a person like yourself who doesn't own PSVR?

It's not like the main dev team is working on these ports, Todd Howard is busy working on new games while another team ports the old ones, why does that upset people so much like holy shit, Fallout 4 only came out in 2015, their games take YEARS to release.

It came out at the end of the last console cycle, so it makes sense to remaster it and release it for the newer systems. The switch needed it and VR is just a really nice cherry on top. It takes almost a long time to develope them so I’m sure they are working on a new one hopefully with a completely redone engine to bring the series into the current trends in RPGs. Also since it’s a less demanding game graphically it’s a great fit for vr and tbh it’s pushing it pretty hard so something like Witcher would be impossible. Hopefully tho someone can see it’s possible and bring a more modern rpg designed for VR to the headsets. Regardless it’s a step forward for VR

Ive gotta say I'm enjoying the hell out of it! I'm amazed at the level of quality PSVR offers at it's price point.

Both Skyrim and RE 7 shine in VR! I have beat both games(Skyrim at least twice) but playing them in VR changes everything for me.

I love horror and there have been a few titles that give me chills but Resident Evil 7 in VR has absolutely terrified me at times. In a good way. Even though I have went through the game playing it in VR is like I'm actually there and that swamp isn't somewhere you want to be!

I'm glad Sony is going down this road! I can't wait to see what else comes to PSVR and PS5!!!!!

this site is pretty amateur, everything from the layout to the minimalistic design screams "my first site"
he's comparing the graphics to resident evil 7 and complaining why they should have upgraded the graphics like in resident evil 7. This guy doesn't even have a clue about how graphics work: resident evil 7 you can see 20 metres so they only need to render everything withing those 20 metres. skyrim you can see hundreds of metres....
