The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR Review – A Virtual Wonderland | TechRaptor

This is Skyrim, the same epic adventure you remember from 2011. What VR adds is a total level of immersion. From the fierce battles with trolls to close encounters with spiders, fights have never felt more engaging. If you have a PSVR you owe it to yourself to dive back into the land of Tamriel.

The thing that gets me is, Skyrim was a poorly optimized game at launch however, they were able to make the FULL GAME PSVR compatible within a year of it's initial launch. I really would like to see other FPS games from the PS3 era be converted to VR as well. I mean if Bethesda was able to do it, I mean really c'mon man lOl. Even some PS4 games should be able to make the conversion as well. At the rate that the VR is selling I expect us to get alot of PS4/PS3 ported FPS experiences.

However, this is definitely interesting, however i've bought Skyrim on PS3/PS4 so I will be waiting for the price to hit 25$ atleast.

This and Rec Room have eaten all my time lately.

Yeah good ,i get ms real easy though ,shame.

Skyrim has teleporting for those who get motion sick. Plus you build up an immunity to it if you keep playing. Not ideal I know, but I think it's worth it, even though I never did get motion sickness myself.

Skyrim VR is amazing. Yes it's blurry at times, but once your playing for about 5 to 10 mins you forget about that and get into the world. Certain locations are amazing like Bleakfalls Barrow, looking up at Azura';s statue, making the trek up the Throat of the world, pretty much any dungeon, the first time I got attacked by a Dwemer Centurion was quite the experience, and any dragon fight. I fought a Dragon in Riften which was incredible, reloaded it a few times because it was so amazing.

"fierce battles with trolls" sounds great! It's why I come to N4G! 👍

Seriously though, this game is AWESOME in VR. The dungeons are eery, the dragons are huge and the fires are (somehow.. 🤔) warm.

I love it more now than I did when the first version released.

Modder wires ChatGPT into Skyrim VR so NPCs can roleplay and remember past conversations

The chats with these Skyrim characters using ChatGPT are pretty clunky, but it's hard not to see some potential there, too.

Nice stuff molders revolutionizing interactions already.

Just a fun experiment that's all, inaccuracies will ruin games

ZycoFox725d ago

OpenAI developers are trying to tune & further enhance accuracy.

What will be most interesting is when they show off their NEO robot that they're working on with 1x robotics this summer that has GPT4. Could be the first time we get robots that are useful for the home.

XbladeTeddy724d ago

It's about the potential. You won't be saying that 5 or 10 years from now.

At the speed AI is going, more like 5-10 months.

SullysCigar725d ago

Oh good, just what we need - woke NPCs lol

BrainSyphoned725d ago

It's not any different than the current batch of devs out there though, I'll have no issues watching them be replaced.

jznrpg725d ago

There’s so much negativity on the internet if you don’t restrict their access it becomes very negative .

SullysCigar724d ago

Yeah, that's what I mean. Algorithms are picking up trends, particular sources, 'preferred' narratives, etc., which is all evident from the testing people have done. ChatGPT even has political preferences, apparently lol

Check out my Disagree Fairly, btw! He's got the proper hump with me! I'm enjoying his attention, but it makes me a little sad that he hasn't quite gone the whole hog and given me 100 disagrees yet. That would be special :^)

Radiant AI is something I wish Bethesda would greatly improve on. It was fascinating watching npcs in Oblivion conversing, trash talking each other, and replicating human behavior in their own awkward way.

Ashunderfire86725d ago

Red Dead Redemption 2 does that way better though.

Inverno725d ago

Haven't gotten around to playing that. I get so disappointed with open world games.

FinalFantasyFanatic724d ago

I missed out on Red Dead during the last Steam sale, oh well, next sale I guess.

anast725d ago

This is going to be insane in the future.

Snookies12724d ago

Can't wait to see how this all turns out! AI is in it's infancy right now, and it's already very intriguing to see the results in these early days. It's slightly terrifying, but also largely fascinating to see unfold.

anast724d ago

I feel the same way. I'm going to ride the wave.

FinalFantasyFanatic724d ago

I can just imagine the unique experiences you'd have and share with your friends, as well as the hilarious jank that could also result from it.

anast724d ago

NPCs are going to be on another level, for sure.
