I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

You shouldn't buy anything from SE. So I guess........ no, you shouldn't buy it on PC.
For that price and considering Square-Enix's policies on PC gaming, such as lack of support and DRMs. I would wait for some big discount before buying it.
