The game is great, no one is arguing that.

The microtransactions are not, that is what people are arguing about.

A 5/10 is clickbait.

supremeaaron2712d ago

I think a 5/10 for Battlefront II is perfectly reasonable, as I feel it is an average game (not good and not bad). If the multiplayer progression system was tightened up and the reliance on loot boxes were toned down the game could have easily been a 7 or 8/10.

I would also like to add that in my mind a 5/10 doesn't equate to a bad game, for me 3/10 equals bad or poor.

Have you used microtransactions/ loot boxes as a means for scoring games in your older reviews?

Are you now going to include them in your future reviews?

Critics did that with the Order 1886 claiming it was too short. Then when longer games launched, suddenly, that wasn't the criteria for reviews.

supremeaaron2712d ago (Edited 2712d ago )

Yes, in past reviews I have taken points of Destiny 2, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege and Overwatch (the amount taken off varied due to how far they went).

When it comes to debating whether microtransactions in a game should result in a points deduction I primarily look at how much the game cost and how the microtransactions effect the game.

ALL aspects should always be taken into consideration and the score tallied by weighing them against each other. If a reviewer is picking and choosing, then their evaluation is worthless.

Wish they would have enabled crossplay when the game was more active

Technically, still a fantastic looking and sounding game.

Sure the new ones are visually very pleasing but they just lack something in the game play that the ps2 Era battlefronts had. I really been enjoying grinding out the Xbox achievements on the remastered

I noticed more people on my friends list playing it recently and I was wondering what was happening. Not going to lie though they kind of made me want to download it again too

This game is my go to lobby shooter lately

Great MP shooter.
I'm just sad there are not more people playing standard TDM
I'm not a fan of the bigger maps/modes

What a strange article. Great game I still play it too this day. In fact I last played it on Tuesday. Completely oblivious to this update. Only ever play galactic assault and haven’t noticed any changes particularly over the years. Struggling to understand the reason why the article felt necessary enough for someone to write up..
