Sports Illustrated: The Xbox One X is the most powerful console ever

The Xbox One X is the most powerful console ever made. Should you buy Microsoft's powerhouse 4KHDR console or get the PS4 Pro?

darthv722348d ago

Would liked to have seen this in their swimsuit issue with a hot model holding the controller.......

Skankinruby2348d ago

Lol I just might have bought my first xbox with that one

BLKxSEPTEMBER2348d ago (Edited 2348d ago )

You might want to be careful making comments like that with all the sexual harassment going on in this day and age lol. Now with that disclaimer out of the way as long as that hot model is Kate Upton you got my vote!

ZeroX98762347d ago

he didn't specify the gender of the swimsuit wearer... :)

EVAH!!!

btw how many articles are going to repeat this? Almost like they're trying to down play the importance of good games.

BlackTar1872348d ago (Edited 2348d ago )

That's exactly what they're doing. The MS all in on HW but F'off to games is what they're trying to hide.

I read somewhere imagine just for a second MS didn't have new HW they would have nothing to talk about cause they don't actually nuture the game market with games.

They talk about games being 2-3 yrs off 4 yrs in to a generation where -3 yrs from now will be the next generation.

I'm not saying this will happen but picture this and then align it with what they've done now 2x in a row. They stop support of the previous console early to start pushing games as release day games for the new gen system then they cut support for new games again and move those games to next gen. It's a pattern with them now after the xbox one.

hamburgerhill2348d ago

No they're not lmao! Nobody has ever said exclusives weren't important. What they're saying is X1X is the most powerful console ever and it's the truth!

DiRtY2348d ago

So, you guys really think that Microsoft paid "Sports Illustrated" to promote their console?

S2Killinit2348d ago (Edited 2348d ago )

@blacktar
Well the thing is that its power is the only thing it has over the competition. So they just continue to say the company tagline over and over to get the most sales from people who buy into the hype.

@Dirty
I think its the first time sports illustrator has become an authority in gaming. So, i dont know. We should ask them. And then we should ask other celebrities and talk show hosts if they have the console for the love of gaming.

fenome2348d ago

@hamburgerhill

So was the Atari when it came out and the NES when it came out, then there was Sega and Playstation and the 360 and on and on...

Condemnedman2348d ago

I'm playing games on my X now in fact I'm playing wolfenstein in glorious 4k along with star wars battlefront and assassins Creed all best console versions available . what you should be talking about is why are sony advertising the pro as a 4k console. lol

fenome2348d ago

@Condemnedman

Cool, how do all those cards look in 4k?

hamburgerhill2348d ago

@Fenome...ok so what's your point? Where was this defense when ps4 news about it's power was everywhere? Lol....just incredible.!

fenome2348d ago

@hambugerhill

Alright, look, I'm not trying to downplay the X1X or its fanbase. It's just all these articles "the most powerful console in the history of power!" I mean yeah, it is currently the most powerful console, but C'mon man. Lol

I guess you're right though, Sony was doing the same thing in the beginning of this generation so now it's their turn.

JackBNimble2347d ago

Dirty
Of course they did, companies don't endorse products for free.

hamburgerhill2347d ago (Edited 2347d ago )

@fenome
To be honest I seriously don't care about the power advantage of X1X although it's great and I want to see it's potential. I'm just hoping this exclusive nonsense from MS is over. Seems like the fanboy arguments will never end unfortunately.

Or it's just a powerful console that they are focusing on power because that's the selling point... I'm thinking E3 2018 will be a doozy for both systems.

Gazondaily2348d ago

Lol why shouldn't different publications offer their take on it? Just because some people don't like the fact that the Xbox One X is unmatched in console power doesn't mean they should pander to those hurt feelings imo.

Embrace the BEAST ♏💪

RommyReigns2348d ago

The 'BEAST' is currently like Samson without his hair, without the games the 'BEAST' has no strength.

2348d ago
S2Killinit2348d ago

Oh they totally should offer their take, especially if they know something about games.

It will be unmached in power for about a year or two for sure, then after that it will no longer be a beast but the good news is that it will still be an xbox.

GamingIVfun2347d ago (Edited 2347d ago )

The thing is the author of the article seems to be gushing a little too much over the system. I own an Xbox One X and think it's a huge improvement over the original Xbox One but it's not a huge improvement over PS4 Pro, I own both a PS4 Pro and an Xbox One X, games look virtually identical on both consoles at normal viewing distances ( you will see differences if you zoom in 600 percent, which no one does when playing a game) and if there is a difference on Xbox One X it is not as big as many make out, consumer or media.

People saying that Sony fan boys started the visuals argument with PS4 is not true, that was started by the Xbox 360 fan boys lauding better graphics over PS3.

The media scrutinized the hell out of the PS4 Pro and the need for it, where there has been much less scrutiny over the Xbox One X and the need for it. Not sure that it's good, bad or unfair.

Condemnedman2348d ago

as many as they want you don't have to read them

Software_Lover2348d ago

So the many "articles" on Xbox has no games were just an N4G illusion?

2348d ago
Bigpappy2348d ago

I think you mean exclusives. Lots of great games on the X.

ZeroX98762347d ago (Edited 2347d ago )

PS4 Pro had it's share of articles of "Most powerful console ever" back when it was released. Let the X have it's moment of glory and as time goes by, you'll see articles comparing a better PC against the X and Pro later on. Then a new generation will start and it's the same story all over again.

Games Diversity and Exclusives are what's making me buy consoles every generations. Be it the PS3/360/Wii last gen or PS4 for this generation. Since I have a great PC, I didn't invest in other consoles yet, but if their exclusives lineup grows, I'll surely consider buying the Switch/Xbox One!

Haven't touched my PS4 Pro since launch.

InTheZoneAC2348d ago

And I haven't touched my SNES mini in two weeks, but no point came out of either statement

sk8ofmnd2348d ago

Deflection at is best is all lol. The xb1 is known as the xb180... they have retracted almost every public statement and went the other direction.

trooper_2347d ago

And I've never touched an Xbox console in all my years of gaming.

trooper_2347d ago

Not really. It has nothing I want to play.

BlackTar1872347d ago

Your loss maybe at the release of the 360 but you haven't lost anything in the last 6-8 yrs except Sunset Overdrive.

bluefox7552348d ago (Edited 2348d ago )

Barring Nintendo, the newest console to come out usually is the most powerful console ever. It was Pro before, now it's X, and next it'll be PS5. The cycle continues. This is not a new phenomenon. Fortunately, hardware power is only one part of the equation, and if Switch is any indication, not a very large one.
