Haha if you look around you & see what’s going on here in Britain yet are still proud to be British there’s something very wrong with you.
This country is a disgrace & an embarrassment. We’ve long overtaken the yanks as being the stupidest country on the planet. Fair play on the battlefront though!
loool I love when people talk about where their from like everybody there is some hot shit freedom fighter
Man you guys take it reverse cowboy 😂😂 no lube, lol.
You dont bend over huh? You guys take it up the ass yearly and guess who from? EA!! The amount brits spend on FUT in FIFA is worse then anything BF 2 has done. lol might aswell pull your pants down at the store 😂😂
I know people who have spent upwards of 500$ on FUT, a lot of people actually
And guess what? CODs #1 in sales in the UK and we all know how decent their practices are lmfao
All this BF hate is making people blind. Man Activison must be laughing to the bank with this BF 2 fiasco 😂
Activison must sound like that Shaggy song right now "it wasnt me" lol
Jeez, taking rare pride in being from my country and you all take it on yourself to go off on a long rant, you all sound like real fun parties. Tbh I can't fault most of the complaints as many are completely on the mark but ultimately you have to learn to enjoy the little victories.. or well you end up turning out like you bitter a-holes.
'Makes me proud to be British, we don't bend over backwards for BS practices.'
Yet FIFA is allowed to lurk around, EA brainwashing football fans every year into buying/feeding into this half assed Ultimate Team cash cow, and all EA do every year is change sliders, update the roster (aka 'do something basic like copy soccermanager rosters') and kits, include gimmicks and keep the media hush hush away from the scam.
"Digital will have made up for some of that drop-off (based on the performance of other games this year). Although, based on EA's digital figures, that won't be enough to make up for the shortfall."
Well apparently it did if it beat out CoD in revenue which also sold more physical, has a season pass AND also MT's. So it must have certainly made up for a very large chunk
It's clear it took a hit because of the controversy but it also could have simply took a hit because the 15 million that might have purchased Battlefront 1 clearly a percentage of them did not want to return regardless.
We don't really know how much this is going to affect the sales long-term until we get more data.
" However, first week sales are more than 50% down compared with last year's shooter. The boxed sales figures are also down 61% compared with 2015's Star Wars Battlefront "
61% down is a much bigger drop then I expected. Glad to see that so many british gamers are taking a stand against this bullshit. Hopefully this scales up globally.
Yup, I've said repeatedly you're dealing with pretty much every single active Reddit user hearing about the controversy. On top of that every one of EA's Facebook ads is filled with comments exposing their BS.
Just don't tell users like EDMIX who insist it won't effect sales, lol.
Also why on Earth you keep saying that I stated this when my comments actually state it won't affect sales that much? This game is still ranked number 2 in that region.
Please stop with the personal attacks because I actually never stated this was going to never a fact even a single sale...
They all have a massive campaign mode that people are happy with on the other hand Star Wars have a week campaign with less than 10 hours and an unbalanced MP full of loot boxes and MT.
But not nearly as many people did. Also day 1 sales are the die hard fans who would buy it regardless of the controversy, sales will tank more next week.
Please don't pretend to be so simple. The controversy was never going to stop all sales; the point was to make a significant dent, which clearly happened.
Correct me if I'm wrong but Battlefront 2 has a higher retail price than most games. I could not find it under £40 at launch. I got WW2 for £40, a couple of quid on each title will drive revenue up without the sales. EA's thinking, you can have all the maps free but to counteract that we will make sure it is a couple of quid/dollars more expensive to buy in the first place. I'm no fan of Battlefront but do like Battlefield and for that franchises sake I wish EA and DICE would part ways, EA have one goal and it only benefits men/woman in suits. This is the kick EA needs, stop forcing devs to put crap like this in games and let them make the games they want. Star Wars is a huge franchise, EA did not need loot boxes to make extra money, a great Star Wars game would sell well and turn a healthy profit, they added them to fleece Star Wars fans and fill their already greedy pockets, its as simple as that.
Actually, I bought it and I think it's great. It does what I wanted it to do. I don't care so much about the mt at all. I probably will buy the new maps they'll release though. But that's just my opinion.
Yes, the game is actually good. Stable connection, no lag, and in my experience working with your team is more important than boosts gained through Star Cards.
This is great news, and should put to rest the nonsense like: "There's nothing you can do about MTs and loot boxes, so just deal with it". We gamers DO have influence over the industry.
That was becasue it was selling for more than any other game. Sales figures only go down after week 1, EA blew this one. They have somehow failed to make the most out of one the worlds biggest franchises, that is what happens when you concentrate on profit margins and forget about the experience.
being numbef one in revenue? compared to the rest? thats not farfetched. its star wars. but the 61% drop in sales compared to the first game is an incredible drop off that will only go downhill from here. come on, lets just face facts and move on shall we? this game is gettjng pummeled.
Paid for loot boxes that allow for say different characters/clothing etc ok, but this obnoxious type of loot box that makes you more powerful than others in multiplayer is all kinds of wrong.
It's not just the loot crates. The first game was nowhere near as fun as the original two Battlefronts. I love DICE, but they gave us a Star Wars skin.
I would say the mixed reception of Battlefront (2015), the mixed reception of Battlefront 2 (2017) fake beta, the loot crate controversy and finally the mixed final reviews are what caused Battlefront 2 to underperform. Also the Star Wars hype has died down a bit since the Force Awakens.
Quiet frankly, I personally think the EA Battlefront games are pretty weak. I don’t think they’re up to par with Dice’s Battlefield games or Pandemic Battlefront. The EA battlefront games arguably get some extra positive reviews simply for being Star Wars. If a Battlefield game (or any other big FPS title), was designed like EA battlefront with similar content and design, those games would be utterly slammed by critics.

Believe me, EA will be more concerned about sales than revenue, sales give an indication of legs in the weeks to come which would drive more revenue, this is not a good sign and EA know it.
WW2 3rd Week >>> Flop Wars LootFront 2 1st week.
Let that siiiiiiiink innn iiiin.

Head Title make me think game sale rank around 7 or 8.
"Keep moaning about the loot boxes but everyone will still buy it anyway."
;)
I'm in the UK and I refused to touch this game.
