That's what I'm talking about.

EddieT2778d ago (Edited 2778d ago )

They already had that power on PC, I don't see what the X brings to the table that wasn't already there.

DrumBeat2778d ago

We're talking about console gaming here. You know this, yet you insist on bringing up the leverage a PC can have. Again, we're talking about console evolution. This has nothing to do with PC, get it?

LastCenturyRob2777d ago

Console article Eddie..Also, the equivalent that you get with th X including the 4k Bluray drive is quite a bit cheaper than if you retailed similar specs on a pc for purchase.

jasonpugh2777d ago

Take the PC talk to a PC forum where you guys can compare your video cards and who has the bigger rig. Lol.

Bobafret2777d ago

You mean who can blow the most money in order to post the best Future Mark scores?

4Sh0w2777d ago (Edited 2777d ago )

EddieT,
"They already had that power on PC"

- No shiii, Sherlock....next you'll tell me jets are still faster than the new Bugatti Chiron.

-Then I suppose you'll try to convince me a jet doesn't cost much more than a Bugatti (Bugatti Chiron $2 million, F-35 Raptor $160 million)...lol, just in case you actually try.

XStation4pio_Pro2777d ago

Consoles..... never been there. Context. Recognize it.

EddieT2777d ago

Lots of sensitive console fans here I see. Having now seen the art style of this game I can see that having that much RAM will do little to nothing to help the developer. Hardly a demanding game.

DrumBeat2778d ago

Agreed. The extra ram was absolutely necessary. Gives a lot of extra leeway. Witcher 3 loading in an instant on a console is remarkable. Keep up the good work Microsoft.

headblackman2777d ago

@ sin7279

it's still 12gigs. 9gigs is just allocated to games development (for now!)

4Sh0w2777d ago (Edited 2777d ago )

Given Microsoft's history with some of the best tech engineers in the world the good news is they will definitely shrink that OS footprint to give devs even more of that 12gigs.

PFFT2777d ago

@4Sh0w
Yep yep! Soon they will add that feature. And if i am not mistaken they already did with the XB1.

andrewsquall2777d ago

Like incredible years in advance tech, animations, shaders, physics? Oh wait, any game this dev makes for X is coming to standard Xbone too. Never mind.

LastCenturyRob2777d ago (Edited 2777d ago )

@ andersquall...Stop trolling..So what if the same games comes out for the XS...By your logic lower spec'd gaming pc's are bringing down higher end gaming pcs...Which is not the case in the least. As with PC the games on the X will be at higher graphic settings, higher resolution with better frame rates where the XS will be at lower settings..... Same game, but one will look and preform significantly better, but you knew that already.

DrumBeat2777d ago

Oh look you typed a comment.

Bobafret2777d ago

They can make everything scalable now, it's not like back in the days of lowest common denominator.

Cmv382777d ago

Exactly. If the game is playable on the original xb1, are they saying the game is shit on the xb1?

@rob

That isn't his logic at all.

Do you not see this happening during development? Like, why are we apologizing after the fact instead of stopping it during development?

Stopac11h ago

Criticism and reflection occur after the fact. The apology acknowledges the past criticisms with the new expansion and they're keeping transparency with players about it. Now that they've acknowledged it - it will be interesting to see what kind of cycle we'll get with a new expansion and I wonder if they're planning something special with beast master since they didn't mention it in the last live letter.

anast16h ago

It's all good, as long as the price of the product decreases.

Stopac11h ago

The base game and expansion go on sale all the time and doesn't stay full price for very long since a new expansion is on the horizon.

If you're stating they should reduce the price of new expansions or the sub fee, no, that's not gonna happen lmao people aren't even complaining about that. They are criticizing the same old pattern of content that releases and how it is devolving into mediocracy.

anast10h ago

"They are criticizing the same old pattern of content that releases and how it is devolving into mediocracy."

The product should be cheaper then.

PapaBop15h ago

I was unhappy with DT and have spent far less time in it than any other expansion but it's things like this that makes me respect Yoshi P. It's rare for such a high profile developer to be so candid in his assessment on a live game.

Stopac11h ago

Same, i've found my self resubbing every two patches instead of keeping it up. Don't own a home in the game so there's no point in keeping a constant sub going. The post story is getting interesting though.
