When Switch is getting compared to a PC.......Nintendo (and of course Bethesda) did something right. :)

It's being compared to PC lowest settings because that's the worst the game can look on any platform. The Switch still doesn't match it.

It's still amazing to be able to play this game on the go, though~ And it shows that the game can still look good on the device.

..it's the size of an Archie comic

Watching this video on my 6" screen phone, they all look the same except the switch version has more background blur during the 1on1 fights, which I actually like more.

You don't need super high quality on a small screen. Plus the super fast motion of Doom, you rarely have time to count pixels.

I'm guessing you were watching on an iphone. On my 5.5 inch galaxy 7 there's a BIG difference in sharpness.

Impressive result for handheld! If I compare it to my 3DS...wow thats a really big difference!

It’s amazing how the game is perfectly playable and retains its core values to the original. It’s insightful that some cannot comprehend the fact the degraded visuals do not impact the gameplay.

They literally can’t understand and refuse to acknowledge this port proved its worth on Nintendo’s platform. Strange days.

It’s a blast. Can’t wait to see how they handle Wolfenstein.

Maybe it's not the degradation in visuals that bothers them but rather the impact to performance and the fact the games runs well below 30fps in some areas.

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil39d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.

After watching Scavengers Reign? The answer is unequivocally yes. I really want something out of left field but I think people are too afraid to shake things up.

It's what I love about Shadowrun and Black Mirror. Love, Death, and Robots proved that there's an audience for stuff that doesn't fit the mold.

Weird games in general we don't get enough of, we need more games like Katamari and Mr domino, things like that
