Good news for team Xbox.

"A small share of PS4 Pro gamers that are keen to have the most powerful hardware for playing third-party published games are likely to shift their usage across to the new console, which may moderately shift the sales share of games between the two competing platforms."

Yeah I don't think it will be a massive number at all. But still, the X1X really appears to deliver an outstanding experience on consoles so the hardcore gamer will no doubt be very compelled to make the jump.

Great start for the X1X

freshslicepizza2774d ago

I guess the key is how well is it going to do after the initial buzz?

Gazondaily2774d ago

Absolutely. I expect sales will dip quite a bit after the initial expected surge. The price-point is still quite a steep one for the casual/masses.

Maybe because it needs actual games rather than up-rezed current titles?

Also, this is speculation about sales. Not actual sales numbers.

@Godmars

There is a difference between just an upres and actually including 4k textures.... if you want proof of that just look at the Shadow of War differences with Pro and the 1X.

sigrid2774d ago (Edited 2774d ago )

It doesn't seem like it would take much to go to a web page and see if they are available.

spreadlove2774d ago

That also depends on what MS does to prop it up if needed. Sony is playing their cards, and that is likely bundled games and maybe lowering of price if sales are particularly slow.

conanlifts2774d ago

This is where they need to release 1 of their exclusives in late January/February to help keep maintain sales.

Sales have nothing to do with quality. More so when trying to insist that what hardcore gamers want will translate into sales for the general market.

Gazondaily2774d ago

It's not rocket science. Hardcore gamers will want the console because of the experience it provides. I didn't say it will translate into sales for the general market. If you actually read my second comment above, you'd know I said that.

XStation4pio_Pro2774d ago (Edited 2774d ago )

That’s me! I have the pro cuz it was the best hardware when released. I have been playing all my newly purchased multiplatform games on it. When the x went on sale I bought it for that exact reason. After playing on the X all day, I know I made the right decision for definitive versions. The X is just hands down better hardware across the board. From graphics to audio to footprint to noise to power consumption. And in person it’s immediately apparent.

mcstorm2774d ago

Good to know im picking mine up tomorrow can't wait have a big back log of games so think my x will get some battering over the next few months.

Valkron12774d ago

Same here. I have a Pro, so I’ll be buying GoW4 in 2018 and TLoU2 in 2019. Everything else I’ll be playing and watching on the X! Great system + 4K Ultra blu ray :)

XbladeTeddy2773d ago

Yeah, I'm a Pro owner but had to buy AC: Origins and CoD: WW2 on the X though instead. Love both consoles but needed to enjoy the extra pixels with those.

Kratos_Kart20072773d ago

Are likely doesn't mean they will..Every upgrade we hear the same rhetoric...I hope it does well...but lets wait and see...

Then I honestly don't get what you are trying to say, much less what MS is trying to do. Aside from them making up for being so blindly Kinect focused.

FFS, if the time it takes to make a AAA game is increasing while the idea of introducing new and more power consoles catches on, then there's going to be nothing but announced games that either wont release on the system they're for or be the inferior version. Whatever that's going to mean in the future.

The same " Analysts" who expected Wii U to sell 53 million units ? Yeah, ok.

" IHS forecasts that Wii U will reach approximately 70 percent of the Wii's sales volume in the first four years after release. The Wii managed to sell 75.9 million units during its first four years, but the Wii U is predicted to sell around 53.2 million units."

Cat Quest III Is Heading to Apple Devices on August 8

"A big part of being a cat pirate is sailing the seas and traveling from place to place. What better way to do just that than by playing Cat Quest III on the go? Soon, aspiring kitty pirates will be able to enjoy the charming cat-themed action RPG on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. That should be a purrfect option for gamers who don't have the game on Switch or Steam Deck. The iOS version will still support 2-player local co-op, thankfully," says Co-Optimus.

Dark Quest 4 Will Bring Back the Co-op When It Comes Out Later This Year

"It could be said that Brain Seal Ltd, the developer of the Dark Quest series, is wishy-washy on co-op. Every other game is either single-player or co-op. Thankfully, the upcoming Dark Quest 4 will be one of the co-op ones. In fact, it looks like this will be the biggest and best game yet in the board game-style dungeon crawling series. A demo has recently arrived on Steam, and the game will come to both consoles and PC later this year," says Co-Optimus.
