wow.. amazing sales numbers. Looking forward to the Media Crate charts to see how much Nintendo dominated.

Of course it did, there's sod all else to play.
Every Nintendo console has the same 6 games updated for the latest gen.

Neonridr2521d ago (Edited 2521d ago )

yes.. because Mario + Rabbids and Arms are sequels.. wait

because Splatoon has 15 entries in the series.. wait

because Zelda is released every year... wait

in Japan, these games are outselling NEW PS4 titles on a regular basis. Talk to me when a Sony game sells over a million in Japan. Happens few and far between. Ever think that maybe these games sell because they are actually good? You would know if you actually owned one, but let's just spout off nonsense because it's the "cool" thing to do.

chadwarden2520d ago (Edited 2520d ago )

Where are the new AAA IP and not just spin offs? Just constant cycling of the same IPs with glorified mini games(Like ARMS) sprinkled in. Mario+rabids =another mario spin off. Splatoon = wii u port. Zelda = another zelda but not a new IP

Prince_TFK2520d ago (Edited 2520d ago )

I would argue that Xenoblade is somewhat a new IP. And Splatoon is not a WiiU port, it is called Splatoon 2. Notice the "2"? While we are on the topic of new IP, what new IP did the PS4 have beside the glorious Knack during it first year?

Give it time. New games/IPs aren't made in a day.

chadwarden2520d ago

Kun_ADR

How could you argue it's a new IP when there have been Xeno games for several years? lol. New games/IPs aren't made in a day but nintendo has been at it the longest so no excuses. The Order and Bloodbourne were also during its first year. Maybe you should have done some research.

Neonridr2520d ago

@chadwarden - the PS4 released in November of 2013. The Order was February 2015, and Bloodborne was March of 2015. So 15 and 16 months after the launch. Thanks for playing, please try again.

Wanna know what big exclusives the PS4 had during it's first 8 months on the market?

Knack, Killzone, Infamous, TLOU Remastered.

wow.. talk about bringing the new IPs out of the gate. Hypocrite much?

Prince_TFK2520d ago (Edited 2520d ago )

Bloodborne was not made by Sony and how well did The Order receive? Currently 63% on Metacritic. Sometimes it is better to rely on proven IPs rather than rushing to create new IPs just for the sake of it. That is why Sony still rely on games like GoW and Uncharted.

I understand that Nintendo is slow in the new IPs department. Heck, even they said it themselves in interviews. But the WiiU brought us new IPs like ZombiU, Splatoon, The Wonderful 101, and Xenoblade so you can bet that the Switch will get many as well. That why I said give it time, it just only 7 months on the market.

andibandit2519d ago (Edited 2519d ago )

@ChadWarden
I dont know how impressed I am with bloodbourne as a new IP. I'm sure i'll get loads of disagrees, but I just see it as Demon Souls reskinned.

You obviously don't actually play any of Nintendo's games and are now pretending to be an expert. If you really think every time Nintendo releases one of their huge IPs it's just an update on the same game you are hugely mistaken. Zelda changed things drastically, as did Odyssey. Nintendo changes each iteration of their games more drastically than any other company. Nintendo's games are not a yearly rerelease like COD or something like that.

chadwarden2520d ago

You're clearly not understanding the point what it means to have a new IP. But that's okay since you're probably not used to experiencing many new IP.

I love how people swing things to make their console of choice look the best. For me the xbox one has more games I want for it and I got a switch for on the go. We all like different things accept it.
I own a Sony Smart phone a Microsoft tablet because they work best for what I want same as my console of choice.

Love the internet age as it has made some massive keyboard warriors over the years.

It really is simple if you own a switch, ps4 or xbox one just enjoy what they offer and let others enjoy what they get from there and this site would be a far better place to discuss games and hardware rather then people sounding like spoilt kids on who has the biggest dck.

Could Super Mario Odyssey 2 Be Luigi's New Big Adventure?

Super Mario Odyssey was the Nintendo Switch’s debut for the franchise, and we saw our red-hatted friend don a new piece of gear that doubled as his new sidekick, Cappy. With so many characters getting some prominent screen time, Luigi felt completely uninvited to this party. That’s why we can’t help but think that Nintendo has something special cooked up for him in Super Mario Odyssey 2.

Nope, Luigi is destined to stick with mansions.

I hope they move on from Odyssey. It is my least favorite 3D Mario game. If felt shorter and a huge step down from Mario Galaxy 1 & 2.

Becuzisaid61d ago

I was happy for a more free roam 3D Mario, it's been forever since there was one like this, but I agree Galaxy 2 was a better game. Galaxy 1 I didn't like as much oddly.

The 10 Biggest Nintendo Direct Moments of the Switch Generation

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Last week Nintendo held this year's surprisingly packed not-E3 Direct; with a full schedule for this year and a vague promise of a console successor next year, it's very possible that we've now seen our final Nintendo Switch Direct, or at least one with major first party reveals. That makes this a good time to sit back and reflect on a generation of Direct moments, from the shocking and surprising, to the joyous and exhilarating - and, quite often, all at once."

My top 3 are Mario 3, Mario World and Mario 64. Mario Odyssey is also excellent, and I enjoyed Sunshine but didn't care for the Galaxy series.
