4 Xbox 360 Games Getting Xbox One X Enhancements

Microsoft’s Xbox backwards compatibility team is adding Xbox One X-specific enhancements to four high-profile Xbox 360 games that are already playable on Xbox One: Halo 3, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Assassin’s Creed. All four updates will be available for free to anyone who owns the game on November 7, the same day the Xbox One X launches.

Some titles now have 10-bit color depth unlocked where they previously had 8-bit, others have HDR lighting enabled, and all have nine times the on-screen pixels.

Isn't it great?According to IGN all OG titles will get 1080p resolution with better framerates and loading times too.

Did you know OG Xbox games also will get a resolution upgrade? They will run at close to 4k. That is NATIVE 1920p if the game is originally 480p!

I'm impressed they added a boost to older games. Nice job for the people who plan on owning an x and playing their old games again. I'm interested to see what oblivion looks like even though I won't be owning an x.

Beast mode works on all family of the Xbox (OG, XB1, X360). That is Zombie Beast with a Jetpack mode!

Coming from someone who owns ALL the dlc for the game...YES! I initially maxed the game in achievements back in 2009 1000/1000...and this was right when i beat the game...but when Shivering Isles came out I had already moved on and thought I was done with the game. It wasn't until Oblivion hit X1BC that I rebought it and Shivering Isles together. It's pretty darn good.

That is very impressive. Enhancing games from the previous generation to work even better on the second iteration of consoles this generation!

This is what I expect from game vendors. They made a lot of money on these four games. I don't want to have to buy a re-mastered version. I want to play the original with modern benefits. Kudos to the publishers of all four games.

I gotta give props where they're due, this is really cool. Backwards compatibility with enhanced framerate and resolution through a simple patch. I've enjoyed playing the remastered versions of older games, but this just seems a lot more convenient, especially if you already own the game.

I'm happy with my PRO and its exceeding my expectations bug time where Xbox One X the so called most powerful console hasn't shown me a game that makes me want one and I have the Xbox One S. What games are they launching with on November 7 that isn't an enhanced game?? What game are they bringing out that isn't on an old game engine and my PS4PRO does the same thing Xbox One X does CHECKERBOARDING. I'm not salty at all to be honest I'm more impressed with the Switch than the Xbox One X salty is what people like you are knowing that GT SPORT is better in the UK than Forza 7. :)

It sounds like you are not only uninformed, but trying to convince yourself that you made the right choice with PS4 Pro. Instead of looking to see if the grass is greener elsewhere, just enjoy your console man.

I also want to add that, you can parade around on the sales of GTS, but I think the rest of us is happy Forza 7 is really well received game by the critics. I wish GTS was the same.

The Pro is extremely underwhelming not only because of the meager boost it was given over the base PS4, but because the support is extremely lacking.

It didn't even live up to mine, and I love Sony's exclusives and consider myself a big Playstation fan. It just doesn't get enough support. It's the little things too - like supersampling. Xbox One X does this universally and automatically. If you want this feature on the 'Pro' you need to tug the developer's shirt. No good.

Morrowind will be scaled up 4x resolution on the S and 16x on the X, plus better frame rates

Xbox may not have as many hard hitting exclusive games, but their Ideas and forward thinking have me feeling very happy and an Xbox gamer.
Could not be more happy to hear this as I recently started a replay-thru of Ninja Gaiden Black.

All these years I resisted chucking away my OG game discs because the 360's own OG backwards compatibility was crap.

Now it looks like I may get use out of them after all and with enhancements too.

Just hope it's more than a few titles that get BC especially Morrowind and Kotor
