This week's Japanese sales include the debuts of Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Lost Sphear.
Quiet week, nice debut for Shadow of War.
The Switch still continues to impress in Japan. Wonder how well Mario will do next weekend
Switch sales are simply phenomenal and hopefully Nintendo meets its 2 million/month target this holiday and next year. Odyssey will clean every Switch out of stores worldwide. Hyped.
It'll likely hit 2,500,000 there by the end of the year, which is pretty great considering the Wii U didn't even hit 3,500,000 over four and a half years.
That would be half of PS4 lifetime in Japan. Crazy.
Currently it's selling around 40,000 a week even though stock is still limited. It only has to sell 50-60,000 a week to hit 2,500,000 this year. . . and that's with Odyssey and the holidays around the corner. That's not even a full year of sales too, it's only a little less than 10 months. Even with significant stock shortages it's pacing close to the 3DS. The 3DS went from 2 million to 4.5 million between the end of September and end of December during launch year. If Nintendo gets stock under control and the Switch sees similar Holiday sales it could hit 4 million there this year.
I wonder what Lime is going to say this time...
"PS4 still has more units sold?"
The Switch sale just keep soaring pass the PS4 in Japan. Good job. I can't wait to see what next week holds when Mario O is out.
it's only a matter of time before the switch version outsell the PS4 version of the multiplat they get.
