NS will never sell more than PS4

Neonridr2383d ago

not overall, but it won't be hard to see it start to sell more than the PS4 over the next little while as it heats up. PS4 is well rooted, thus less and less people will pick it up because they already have one.

PhoenixUp2383d ago

That's not always necessarily the case.

- PS1 sold 70 million units by 2000 and then went on to sell an additional 30+ million units even with its successor and the other 6th gen platforms on the market.

- PS2 sold 100 million units by 2005 and then went on to sell an additional 55+ million units even with its successor and the other 7th gen consoles and handhelds on the market.

PS4 could very well experience a similar trajectory going into its golden years. It may not always remain on top, but it's not going to dramatically drop off like the Wii did.

But with more recent consoles they, the PSP, PS3, and PS Vita, never found that same type of post-generation success. I think that the gaming landscape may have changed a bit, which may factor in to the PS4 selling a bit less than its brethren.

Though, that doesn’t necessarily mean the Switch will catch up to it.

holidays were good for the ps4 back then, its showing numbers from Switch in March to August...... Vs ps4 November aka holiday time to April

second reason it will struggle against ps4 beside parts, is because sony have factories they can slow production down on their phone line or something else and increase playstation production

But what Nintendo can do with how little they have against Sony is more amazing then what Sony doing against Nintendo

kneon2382d ago

You don't just switch factory production from one product to another overnight. It takes weeks or months to switch to producing an entirely different product.

Na,but it will be successful, and that's all that matters.

PS4 is too far ahead to catch atm. I do see it surpassing the Xbone though.

Tazzy2382d ago

I see it outselling Xbox One and Xbox One X combined and some people think that console sales don't matter this is proof that they do. Playstation and Nintendo are going to be fine the Xbox brand is going to struggle once again sure it can do 4k its not an upgrade to me its a new console the Xbox One S was 4k with Gears of War 4 that was the upgrade imo. The Switch is going to sell even more with Mario Odyssey coming if they happen to make a Super Mario Galaxy 3 for it theres another game that will get more people to want it if they don't have it people have wanted Mario Galaxy 3 for quite sometime.

Nice numbers. Nintendo is finally able to keep stock, so that will help the sales increase. I'm thinking about getting that Mario bundle. PS4 sales is just another day at the office for Sony. MS should be worried right now; at this rate the Switch will catch them. I don't see the xbox one x saving them in the sales department.
