South Park: The Fractured But Whole Review - IGN

This time there's a strong combat system to match the outrageous comedy.

OldGuyStillGaming2765d ago

Great reviews so far
This month is starting out really good for new games

freshslicepizza2765d ago

Too many games to play. I already gave up on Cuphead for now, need a break. This could be a nice alternative until I de-stress from Cuphead. Destiny 2 is coming soon on the PC as well.

This game so wrong and so right at the same time in a very good way. I'm just love the way of South Park,

Prince_TFK2765d ago

And we have another winner on our hands, folk. This could legitimately be a GOTY contender, or at the very least competing in the RPG category. What a year we had, and there still are two months left.

The 10th Rider2765d ago

Yeah I really doubt it. In the RPG category it's already going against Persona V, Neir, and Divinity Original Sin 2 . . . With Xenoblade Chronicles 2 being a potential contender still to come.

l3w1s2765d ago

I don't think Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be eligible due to its release date being too late. And even with P5, Neir and Divinity, that still leaves room for South Park to be a contender. Don't think it is a winner material, going against such great games, but a contender - sure.

Prince_TFK2765d ago (Edited 2765d ago )

Yeah I was saying "contender". Even if South Park doesn't win anything, going up against the likes of Persona 5, DOS 2, and Xenoblade would be a great honor for the dev.

The 10th Rider2765d ago

Ah, when you said "winner on our hands" I took that to mean potential to win some of those awards. I suppose you just meant winner as in it's a solid game.

Yeah, Xenoblade may be ineligible in some awards, but it all depends on the organization giving the awards so it'll be eligible some places. Whether or not it'll be a contender is an entirely different question, seeing as the first was so great but X was a bit underwhelming.

Profchaos2764d ago

When stick of truth came out it released in the same timeframe as GTA v and still sold well which should tell you that people love these games I think this new title is a contender

neocores80552765d ago

OMG i cant wait man. Pre-loaded and it opens at 10pm :D

Xenophon_York2765d ago

Nice review score for a South Park game. Might have to actually give it a try.

nowitzki20042765d ago

You never played Stick Of Truth??

Xenophon_York2765d ago

In all fairness all the South Parks I played were either on N64, PlayStation 2 and XBOX.

nowitzki20042765d ago

I recommend Stick Of Truth, Should be cheap now and its really great.

AirJohnston2765d ago

I never got to play The Stick of Truth but always wanted to, and really wanna get this one

Xenophon_York2765d ago

Let the COD on GamePass experiment begin!
I would think their quarterly revenue will take a hit compared to a year ago, but will maybe make up for it throughout the year as the monthly GP subs keep coming in

pwnmaster3000209d ago

Was up with call of duty man?
I downloaded cod on gamepass and for some reason I cannot access the game.

darthv72209d ago

just curious what version? There are some that you can pre-load, but they wont work until their release date later this month.

pwnmaster3000209d ago

I have to redownload it again for the 3rd time to check.
I ended up just deleting it to make room for other games after the second time.

It was on Xbox game pass, I didn’t know there was other versions. I just downloaded everything, but sadly I couldn’t even access the game. Maybe 3rd time the charm. I’ll download it again.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH209d ago

It’s not out yet man unless you’re talking about MW3.

pwnmaster3000209d ago

I’m talking about mw3. For some reason I could not get it to work.

just_looken209d ago

On xbox there is the last gen/current gen versions pc though you could also get a xbox version.

When that new forza first came out for one day they had the xbox version on the pc store i was like ? what it was odd.

On xbox you can easily download the one version of a game instead of the series version so you run into issues on your series console.

pwnmaster3000208d ago

Because a game won’t run after I download it??
Man your kids must hate your @ss if that’s how you think.

It's going to be very interesting to follow up on how the new entry of CoD will perform at the box office, player numbers and distribution of Xbox, PC and PS versions this year.

DivineHand125209d ago

I got excited thinking they ported StarCraft to consoles but it's just the PC version. Also, I thought Starcraft 2 was already free to play.

TheColbertinator209d ago

I'm certain it is going to be the Campaign Collection version.

We are going to see a lot of crap South Park products since they sold out to paramount years ago. It's their IP they can sell out, of course; it just means the quality of their show has tanked and other products as well. Nevertheless, they put on excellent musicals, but those haven't been sold to a mega corporation.

cammers1995410d ago

They said awhile ago that Ubisoft holds contract rights to the main flagship South Park games. So like stick, fractured and phone destroyer.

Snow Day was handled by THQ and Question and is a random spinoff. Hopefully Ubisoft is cooking something.

anast410d ago

That's one reason to be hopeful, but Ubi is trending down too.

chicken_in_the_corn409d ago

Loved the RPGs but never played the others. Have to track them down. Still not sure about Snow Day though.

The 7 Best South Park Games

The South Park series has somehow managed to stay relevant for over 25 years, but which are the best games based on the TV show?

cammers1995517d ago (Edited 517d ago )

The only two worth playing are Stick of truth and fractured but whole. The rest were garbage except snow day which I can't say anything about yet. But with that said, unlike stick and fractured which debuted as AAA full priced titles by ubisoft, snow day is a new developer and publisher and has a budget price at only $30 soooo
