Project Octopath Traveler is a very interesting Japanese role-playing game set to take players on a vast and multi-directional journey. That said, it's been a bizarre and unwieldy name ever since it was first introduced in February 2017.
To be fair, Project Octopath Traveler is just the game's CODE NAME right now. For all we know they might very well reveal a name that links it to the SaGa line, down the road. We'll have to wait and see.
Maybe they are brave and that will be the default name.
I see what you did there.. :P
I could believe they turned this into a Bravely game but I hope a fresh IP.
Nope. Sadly the Octopath Traveler name is going to stay. O C T O- Olberic P- Primrose A- T- H- As you can see the Octopath name is going to be the first letter of each of the 8 Characters, 8 Stories 8 Path 8 Travelers ----------------- So the project part will become a subtitle for the game. But a different name.
Why isn't Olberic the first O? Interesting theory and I can get behind this.
I just recently played the demo, as I just got a Switch a couple of weeks ago. I played as the dancer, and the story really hooked me. Loved(?) how dark it was. Lost to the pimp guy twice, so idk of the demo ends after that fight. I didn’t quite get the combat system as I didn’t want to keep putting time into it before the game releases. But I’m definitely buying this game as soon as it releases. Very cool stuff.
Demo is pretty big and there is no end honestly. You just put 3 - 4 hours(each chatacter) until you run out of things to do.
I don't care what they call it as long as I get to play it.
No. This game is by the Bravely Team. Square Enix has no control other than them publishing it in Japan and having the IP. Nintendo has it in the west. And the Octopath Traveler is going to stay because when changing the game voice volume the character you're playing as say it. And it's name speaks itself. 8 Path - Traveler.
