Real VR games are already on offer. And even though stated in the article, Doom isn't even the full Doom game. It's made from the ground to be in VR. Which is good. Not shoehorned games that may or may not work. Just like movies that were built for 3D. And the poor ones that were tacked on 3D that hurt the genre.

Also, maybe it's just me. But I don't get tired in VR like the article writer says. Either it's relaxing or a workout. I never get sleepy or drained of energy though as I always want to play "just one more time."

Alexious2803d ago

I often get headaches while playing VR.

S2Killinit2803d ago (Edited 2803d ago )

I get physically tired after about 2 hours of playing, but not sick at all.
How is Fallout in VR? I bet its pretty immersive. I think ill try it.

I wouldn't say I get fatigued by it, but I don't usually play VR games for as long as I would play traditional games. Partly because the real world calls, but mostly because VR is so much more intense.

It will be awhile before we see real VR games from big publishers. Until then I expect more test projects like these two mentioned and VR 'enabled' titles. While they can be fun it won't push people to VR who are comfortable playing those games without using the VR option.

It really is something they needs to be experienced first hand to truly understand just how immersive it is. Project Cars 2 does not make it feel like an afterthought, it's fully enabled. It does not separate the two, in fact it can be beneficial in getting better lap times.

Eonjay2803d ago

Bethesda's projects aren't test projects. They are real full games.

BlackTar1872803d ago

That's true but lets be real the product they push out is basically a BETA they just get away with saying it's the Legit release.

People need to play about 20 games of Echo Arena and then they will be hooked on VR.

gangsta_red2803d ago

I got dizzy just watching it on Youtube.

S2Killinit2803d ago

But we've already SEEN real VR games from big publishers. Are you living in your own demension?

freshslicepizza2803d ago

Show me one game with a AAA budget made for VR. I bought Oculus so it's not like I don't support VR but I'm a realist. Robo Recall and Lone Echo are great but where are the big titles from well known development teams or big publishers?

S2Killinit2803d ago

How about Resident Evil 7

freshslicepizza2803d ago

RE 7 can be played without VR, I was referring to VR only titles. You don't seem to grasp that publishers are not willing to risk big budgets for VR only titles until the install base makes sense to. Which is why we have a catch 22 scenario.

S2Killinit2803d ago

What difference does it make if its available to others or not??

That just doesnt make sense. The fact is, you can enjoy the game in Virtual Reality and its an amazing experience. A true standout gaming experience of the generation.

Do you think I care that Gran turismo and ace combat 7 can be played with a tv? Or even that Ace Combats missions are not all in VR? I do not. All that i care about is being able to play them in amazing VR.

weren't you the one that was also posting how great Fallout VR will be on the Scoprio last E3 when Ms announced "true 4k" and "high fidelity VR" and the like of Fallout Vr for it????

Why the change of heart? are you startign to see through the lies spencer says? or just trying to look less like a gummer?

freshslicepizza2803d ago (Edited 2803d ago )

I never said it won't be good, I said they need to make VR only titles that are made for VR, not VR enabled games that can be played with a regular controller. Most people will continue to ignore VR unless they make Fallout 5 VR only but that won't happen for business reasons . The catch 22 cycle continues.

Fallout and Doom will bring more awareness, just like RE7 did for PSVR but to truly push people you need to go all in.

I feel like fallout 4 is going to be a slap dash conversion like a vorp x wrapper or something. Does it even support Touch controls or Vive wands? I doubt it. Will be cool just for the scale of the world and being in it.

TankCrossing2803d ago

They've been working on it for bloody ages, so i hope it is more than that. I'm not expecting i high level of interactivity with the objects and environment though.

Scatpants2803d ago

No matter what it turns out being I'm glad they made it because I skipped it when it originally came out and this will give me an excuse to play it and make it more engaging. I would not be surprised if it was teleport only though.

Cajun Chicken2802d ago

I have tried VorpX for a few titles and DOOM was one of those that worked fantastically well, except for a few screen cropping, menu and HUD issues. But it's no good putting the gestures or controls in if the game isn't built FOR VR. A lot of games are virtually unplayable with VorpX because they map the headset to what should be the movement of the mouse, this means that you aim the crosshair with your head in games whilst still being able to look around and this is seriously confusing, it made sword fighting a nightmare in trying out Skyrim in VR, what needs to be done is simply looking with the headset and aiming with the controllers using a movable crosshair which doesn't sit in the middle of the screen. Which I hope is what Fallout 4 VR does.

Also, launching VorpX in Steam games is so difficult as you have to uniock the VorpX Watcher system Icon off and on as soon as possible before a game boots up or the Steam game won't launch. I know it was like that a month back, I don't think this has been fixed for Vive and Steam VR yet.

Scatpants2802d ago

I'm sure it'll be better than just straight up VorpX but I assume it'll be close. I'll have fun nonetheless but I'm not expecting a quality VR conversion.

wow my friend (mr-dude) got banned because he asked why the mods didn't do anything about the spamming from greengangta and he got banned..
And greengangta is still here...

really n4g?

TankCrossing2803d ago

Pack your bags son, you're done for as soon as the mods catch up to you. :)

little-witch2803d ago

how do you mean? I did nothing, he messaged me on psn. I only think this is unfair. If they ban me for speaking the truth... well says enough about this site. I took a screenshot so..

gangsta_red2803d ago

I seriously doubt your friend got banned because of asking a mod about greengangsta. I have seen many comment on him and they are still here. More than likely he's not telling you the whole story.

little-witch2803d ago (Edited 2803d ago )

This is the only thing I can find in his comment section.

http://n4g.com/user/comment...

Still, I don't think he is lying. Why would he.. Anyway I said what I wanted. I think it is unfair.

ocelot072803d ago

Can't wait to play both and Skyrim VR.
