Is it coming to Xbox, or will they be announcement of one?

WePlayDirty2767d ago

My guess would be no... All of the other installments are not on Xbox.

TheGamez1002767d ago

It is very possible, namcos been bringing most of their games to other platforms. Just wait for official announcements. Series definately deserves to be played by more people.

WePlayDirty2767d ago

Like Xbox users would buy it? As if.

Chevalier2767d ago

Not really. All the current Tales games, .Hack remasters, Ni No Kuni, Sword Art, Gundam, Digimon, Jojo's Bizarre series and previous 2 God Eater Games have not appeared on Xbox in any shape or form.

TheGamez1002767d ago

Relax guys lol, Im a huge ps fan and think its fine if its playstation exclusive. Just saying that many third party games from major japanese companies have definately been bringing their games over to pc and even xbox lately. Code Vein and SAO Fatal Bullet for example. When I say other "platforms" I also mean pc too and namco america will most likely bring GE3 to pc since GER and GE2RB made it over.

Chevalier2764d ago

The games should be easy to port, so I figure since most releases skip the Xbox outright it has to do with low sales and likelihood of recouping cost of another version. Otherwise how would anyone be able to explain how Dark Souls, DBZ, Tekken manage to make it to Xbox just fine? Also look at Mages for example which was 100% releases on Xbox only last gen and now this gen they started out that way and ended up releasing on PS4 as well. Psychopass for example was released on Xbox exclusively then sold so poorly they ported it to PS4. When it came time to release it stateside even though the Xbox version was done first they didn't bother releasing it and released it only on PS4.

I understand what you're suggesting about widening and growing their market, hence why Bandai Namco, Tecmo Koei, Sega and NIS have started releasing much of their games on PC. With PC there is no need to bring it to Xbox where time and again their fanbase has proven that they don't support much exclusives.

Look at poor sales of FF XV, Dead Rising, Recore, recent Forza, Quantum Break, and if it was just Bandai Namco alone it might be an anomaly, but, Sega/Atlus, NIS, Tecmo Koei, Konami, Square Enix all have games coming to PS4 and PC exclusively in droves.

Probably not. God Eater 1 was on PSP, God Eater 2 was on Vita and PS4 and they remastered 1 for the PS4. No point in releasing part 3 on Xbox One. The story wouldn't have much context without playing the other ones.

Rangerman12082766d ago

You do have a point there, however about your previous post, although a majority of games you mentioned are definitly on playstation consoles, haven't they announced that the new SAO game (Fatal Bullet) will be on PC, PS4, and Xbox? Then again it is SAO so they're probably just trying to cash-in on its' popularity.

Damn China not freaking playing idk if this good or bad.

LOGICWINS1805d ago

Can you explain for the laymen (me) why this is bad?

LightofDarkness1805d ago

Chinese censorship laws forbid a great deal of content and subject matter that western and Japanese markets are accustomed to.

yellowgerbil1805d ago

No amount of money is worth selling out to the Chinese in an industry where they censor things so badly that there is only like 10 games available on the Chinese Playstation store.

Rangerman12081805d ago

That reminds me of the time they banned Devotion from Steam just for a winnie the pooh easter egg.

TheColbertinator1805d ago

It turns out the world's most powerful Communist autocrat is just a snowflake.

rainslacker1805d ago

Tencent owns so much of the industry now, and they don't censor games outside of China beyond what is done because of these crazy standards which localization companies, or console makers, or publishers themselves would do otherwise.

It's also not like Marvelous and Xseed haven't been criticized heavily for censoring their games outside Japan for quite some time now anyways.

yellowgerbil1805d ago

What you said amounts to one of those crazy women trying to marry a serial killer behind bars, "I know he hurt other women, but he hasn't hurt me so I love him".

rainslacker1805d ago

And how has Tencent hurt you, or what have they done that has you concerned?

Seems that might be worth mentioning, because otherwise, what you said originally amounts to, "I have no reason to hate them except they're Chinese, and I'm irrational." I mean, unless you are talking about that extremely exaggerated example you gave, which isn't true, and the censorship has more to do with local requirements more than it does Tencent doing it.

I know there are things out there you could cite, because I'm well aware of who Tencent is, and what they've done, but most of that is within China itself.

yellowgerbil1804d ago

let me ask you this. Would you support Microsoft or Sony if they had ties to the kkk? Would you support Nintendo if they had ties to Isis? Would you support Rockstar if it had ties to Scientology?
Probably not, same goes for a company owned by the Chinese government. Have nothing against Chinese people, but their government and by extension the companies within its borders, yeah.

RazzerRedux1804d ago

@yellowgerbil

lol....Microsoft and Sony already have a ton of ties to the Chinese government.

rainslacker1804d ago

Probably not, but realistically, I'm sure you can find investors in any major company that have ties to some screwed up organization. Tencent is a privately held company in China. They tow the communist china line because they have to, and may have a vested interest in doing so. I dunno.

But, my philosophical ideals against blatant hatred or offensive groups is a lot different than my views on companies that operate within political regimes that I dont agree with.

I dont have anything against the companies within china. If you can show something that supports that they are directly linked to the chinese government, either completely controlled by, or they control the government, then by all means, I'm willing to hear it.

This is disappointing news, because I try to stay away from Tencent.

at this rate it'll be easier to stay away from oxygen

Sorry to say, but they bought that too.

ifrit_caress1805d ago

Any breathing human being should stay away from Tencent.

Rangerman12081805d ago

At this point, the entire gaming industry is just gonna be a battle of Tencent and NetEase on "who can own the most studios".
