Will Red Dead Redemption 2 Have a Playable Female Character?

J Station X: Red Dead Redemption 2 could include a playable female character, according to hints dropped by Rockstar Games as it promotes its upcoming cowboy game.

Hopefully they don't. Red Dead Redemptions story was so good because it focused on John, it was his story from beginning to end. If they had multiple characters the ending wouldn't have had the same impact.

It wasn't that good in GTAV to be honest, all I kept thinking was "I want to go back to Trevor" as he felt like a true GTA character. Not to forget that buying multiple properties was a bitch when only certain characters were allowed to buy certain ones.

Exactly. When I think back on my experiences with all GTA games, GTA 5 was definitely the best game in terms of gameplay but it didn't really leave a lasting impression because of the multiple characters. There was no real connection with the characters. I think it was a good idea and I'm glad they implemented it in GTA 5 just to try something new, but going forward they should stick to one main character

Exactly. There are so many questions about this game, but I could not care one way or another whether you play as a female. All I really care about is that they make no compromises.

It shouldnt matter but what I mean by that is this shouldnt even be part of any discussion why is it important whether or not there is a controllable female. Who cares if there is or isnt. Its up to the devs.

Devs should be free to create any characters. As long as theyre free and not pressured.

Well if its not believable than its counter productive to story telling. Now I'm no expert on wild west but I think A female could pull it off and not feel forced or unbelievable. I don't really know of any strong female cowboys but I don't think none existed.

If it fits the story than sure. But if it's done just because of feminism and SJWs than no.

I have no problem playing as a woman in games. In fact, many of my favorite games have female leads.

IMO i would´nt mind playing as different characters. But in GTA V, playing with all 3 was a bit of a mess. And i didn't find any of the characters really interesting (Trevor slightly). Though its Rockstar Games, so I don't doubt they can make it work. Though i could imagine playing as only Morgan being the gang leader and be able to command the rest of the characters/gang.
