Mercurysteam's Dave Cox: 'Games have become too expensive'

"I do think games have become too expensive," Cox told MCV at this year's Gamescom. "£60 is a lot of money for a game. I have disposable income and spend money on games, but now I have to think twice about what I buy every year."

That's total BS; if anything games are underpriced compared to how much they cost to make. He just sounds bitter about spending money on games.

Cost of games usually go down pretty quick after they come out (Unless it's COD or something).
If you just wait a little bit, you can usually get the game cheaper... You don't have to get the game as soon as it comes out.

Even digital games and general titles I'm interested in have been cheaper than in the past. I rarely pay full price for games and usually regret it. Last was final fantasy :/ there's free games that are decent and early access... it's no wonder game companies are frightened of expensive budgets nowadays. More competition from more inventive and hungry devs it seems... along with multiplayer focused titles with longevity are priority. It's been a while since I've completed a single player triple A title. It's a buyers market now IMO and so many games to play!
