The original looks awesome, but the whole pokemon-ish thing is not for me.

Yeah it's a bit hard to get into the original to many people because the familiar system is time consuming.
But I don't know if they can ever top the appeal of commoner turned wizard goody two shoes like Oliver it's impossible not to like him.

I loved everything but the combat in the first one. The whole releveling after upgrading monsters was a kick in the teeth. Also leave that to pokemon and focus on characters imo.

Well after reading this can honestly say my enthusiasm and hopes for the game has dropped massively from day one buy to waiting till its around 10$ on steam. The orignals sprites and battle system in the Ghibli art style is what drew me to the 1st game. Owell heres hopping for a pc port of the 1st as its still one of my most favorite games of all time.
