TSA writes: "Golf isn’t supposed to be fun. It is a serious pastime played by serious people while they talk about serious things, and anybody that doesn’t do that is clearly doing it wrong. However, nobody seems to have told Sony or Clap Hanz, as despite all of the obvious reasons not to, they’ve been plugging away making golf into a fun experience for the past twenty years. While fans will be glad to know that this year’s Everybody’s Golf is the most expansive entry yet, with more content than you can shake an oddly shaped golfing stick at, there’s a potential bunker looming if you’re wanting to play online."
Sammy: "It’s sad that PlayStation has moved on from some of these iconic brands, but it would be worse watching them rot. At least with this licensing strategy, there’s a legitimate opportunity for more great franchises to get a second chance. And if they sell really well, there’s always the chance Sony may decide to bring them back."
Love this idea. Let other companies release reboots of these classics to a wider audience. Everyone wins.
Remaster Puppeteer. It looked great on PS3 but it would be nice to have on PS5 with fast loading and some sort of 4k
Get in a few more rounds online while you can.
They always shut down the servers on these games too early. Did it with Hot Shots Vita also :\
They should at least wait until a follow up, but maybe we're getting one soon. I love the series.
I put thousands of hours into this game and when I did the PSN name change it voided my save progress and restarted me from the beginning.
Lost all my extra club sets and stats and purchases and just deleted the game after that.
Shame gem of a golf game, apparently they are not making anymore for playstation ?
Seems too early to shut down. I played this game heavily the last two years with friends. Hopefully something new is around the corner.
Phil writes, "The golf season is in full swing, quite literally at that. Thus, it's no better time than the present to step onto the tee box and swing for the green in one with a special article devoted to the best golf games released in recent years. SPC has a list of the six greatest golf games, whether arcade, sim, or otherwise too crazy to even classify! From old favorites like Mario and the Everybody's Golf crew, to new, fresh faces in the world of golf video games, this list of six has something for everybody!"
Golf Story is so good. Really pumped for Sports Story. I wish it came to other platforms than Switch.
Honestly, I never played any of the Hot Shot Golf games and despite Everybody's Golf's flaws, I still had a lot of fun with the game, even though I'm not a fan of golf. Plus, the character creator is probably almost as good as Dragon's Dogma's, Dark Souls', Xenoverse's and Sims'. Is something that most games with a lackluster character creator (God Eater and SAO for example) should take notes.
6/10? I guess their opinion but no Hot Shots golf game has ever been that low and this one isn't either.
I personally like having to unlock courses. If I had them all right away I'd have nothing to work towards and I'd get sick of the game in a week.
