That's somewhat the problem though, that starter mission on the demo is on a completely different level to almost everything I've seen so far and I've reached max level. Granted I stopped and done a ton of side stuff so haven't progressed overly far in the story just yet so it should hopefully pick up.

Destiny 2 is going to be one of those games though, for those who get it, they'll absolutely love it, those who were put off for whatever reason or had major gripes in the original's game design, I haven't seen much in Destiny 2 that will change their mind. I loved the original and am loving my time playing so far but there will be a lot of these articles in the coming few days, partially due to what could have been better done but ultimately some people just need to accept that the game isn't for them.

When Destiny came out I said I would wait until a complete package releases before picking it up. I still haven't bought Destiny...

Maybe will check out Destiny 2 when all the DLC comes in one package.... but will probably be into something else at that point.

So the writer says theybe only played the beta, maybe someone should inform the writer that issues of concern have been fixed. Grenades do recharge faster and their are perks to help you get your grenade even faster. Supers charge more quickly now also. As for power ups in crucible I don't find it a big deal. There's more than 2 drop points so it's easier to get at one if your that reliant on your power weapons to get you kills

seems like a pretty popular IP for being "broken". Maybe its not what a few people want specifically but I played it on the ps4 Pro last night and had a blast. We all did. if you don't like it, don't play it. there are plenty of other people to play with who seem just fine with it.

I've pinched off plenty of hot stinky comments on Bungie for Destiny 1 but 2 is such a vast improvement. A storyline with a...well, story, NPCs that have personality, vast play areas with all kinds of hidden stuff, plenty of useful loot, variety in gameplay...VAST improvement! Not broken at all. The issues from the beta have been fixed.

It is. But he's using it as a way to say that they didn't change enough for Destiny 2 to be fixed because its more of the same.

The only problem is he's totally wrong. This one improves of Destiny 1 in every way. Which is awesome for me because I loved D1. Put over 600 hours in that game with my friends.

At the end of the day, Destiny's strongest point was the polished, extremely fun gameplay. Whether you hate RNG loot, lack of story, DLC, it doesn't matter. Few games offer the amount of fun that Destiny did when it comes to partying up with friends and running Strikes. Even people who hated D1 had nothing but good things to say about the gameplay itself.

I actually couldn't get into Destiny 1. Just didn't like it story wise. The gameplay was good though. After gaming for over 25 years things have just been getting stale. Maybe I'm old or something but I get bored really quickly and don't even care to finish the games I buy. I'm really hoping Destiny 2 makes me like gaming again. Seems from all reviews that it's much improved.

The story sucks so far but I'm only a few hours in. I was one of the people who chastised destiny 1 for not having a story but after playing destiny 2 it all makes sense. Bungie sucks at telling stories. I actually prefer the grind of the first destiny.

Great experience so far. Much better than the original. But man, you can get distracted from your goal and veer off so easily. This is a good thing, though. Destiny is one of those games where you lose sense of time and get completely lost in the world. I'll turn my head to the left or right after about two hours and remember where I actually am.

Who are you talking to? Have you read the comments? No one is complaining aside from 2 or 3 people. And one or two of them havent even played this game and were always going to hate on it no matter how the game turned out. The vast majority of people are loving this game. As are reviewers.

This is one article written by someone who admitted to not even playing the game outside of the beta, which has also been improved on. So again, who are addressing when making a comment to everyone like they are all disappointed?

The game isnt really deserving of the monicer 2. The enemies arent varied enough, the loadout is different but not really enough, the maps are different but about the same size as Destiny 1 or the dreadnought. In all Im glad I rented this game instead of buying it because for me this game isnt worth 60$ and is just pretty much DLC and could easily have been and should have been DLC but Activision is a greed pig and Bungie sold its soul.

In all my friends are playing it but Im going solo for a bit. I havent reached anything yet that I could do alone.

Most of your issues just seem like petty gripes, you complain about the game needing an internet connection as if it was the only game that required that, you gripe about your internet connection needing to be good as if that's the games problem, and if needing a constant internet connection to run a game is an issue for you let me remind you that had Microsoft had their way you would have needed that for every single game you payed.

The game is a great ! I been playing non stop for 10 hours yesterday and I'm playing on the original ps4. It looks fantastic, it plays fantastic, it reminds me a lot of Halo. The multiplayer pvp is the only thing that needs improvement but other than that, it is remarkable. (When playing as warlock, the jumping is tap tap (half second each)

Destiny was not a perfect game. It has it flaws and issues. However, the problem with Destiny are the players. It seems that any fixes or changes to the game is not good enough for them. You have a group who loves the changes, but you have another group who hates the change. I just hate it that the developers bends the knee to every little complaints and make changes just to please the whiners. The raids are too hard, the raids are too easy, everyone is using specials, there is not enough specials, etc....

Ive played Destiny when it first came out and even though it is not a perfect game. I continued to play it because it was a fun game. I've played Destiny 2 for a few hours now and so far it seems like a great improvement on the first. The only thing i suggest bungie fix or implement is a live view map while traveling. When traversing the EDZ I have to keep holding down the touch pad on the PS4 to activate the map to see if im heading in the right direction. It takes away from the experience (unless im missing something or blind).

Players are not the fault of horrible design decisions, being rushed to market, etc.

They never fixed the no matchmaking problem. Even in Destiny 2 it's just a partial fix. They want you to jump through unnecessary hoops. It's insane. You CAN have fireteams AND matchmaking. But in Destiny 1 you only had fireteams. In 2, they still want to push fireteams, making you jump through hoops to use in game tools to join matches. A hassle. At least it's POSSIBLE now, but still a grind in order to start a grind. Grind squared is still convoluted.

They also nerfed many guns which was just stupid. In PvP I can understand it. But PvE? After you spend 50 hours doing crap to get that gun? That's just a slap in the face... and hey buy the next expansion pack for full price as we offer the base game and expansion packs for less to new people.

Then they changed up the resources (in different ways), so if you were grinding resources, all of sudden, they were basically worthless. Add this, add that, change drop of this or that.

I stopped playing it because it became a hassle to play the game. 3rd party website? Nope. Tried and didn't work. Messaging people? What a fricking hassle, especially since most people . Trying to join fireteams with 'friends'... oh I already did that and you're not my level. Begging people? Screw that. Then to spend a ton more money to constantly do that? I'd rather watch paint dry.

*which is funny because I originally was a higher level then them, just fell behind because I had no one to play the game with at higher levels since I leveled up faster then them. Tried a dozen times to get a group to play Vault of Glass, which I waited a long time to even try, and never did*

Which again, is all bungies fault, for their idoitic, no matchmaking system.

The problem wasn't the players, the problem was that Destiny was a cluster fudge and should have been delayed at least a year to get their crap together, and matchmaking.

I agree with you that PVP changes should not affect PVE. However, it comes down to Bungie's laziness to separate the two. The game was rushed and was cut up into bits to sell as DLC (according to rumors but thats a different discussion).
But if you look at what was the goal of the game before it came out, you will understand why Bungie went the route of requiring players to go find their own team to do raids and nightfalls. This was suppose to be a MMO shooter. Most MMO games, you yourself go out and find a team. How do you do that in an MMO? you either do it by interacting with other players while exploring Destiny patrol or when they are in the tower, the other way is to have friends you know who play the game to join you (link a friend). It suppose to encourage a more consistent fireteam and encourages you to play with the same fireteam through out game.
Most MMO, if you dont have a team you will not able to accomplish some of the harder mission or quests. This what Destiny was supposed to be.

Im not saying the fan are fault. but You can not solely blame everything on Bungie the fans had a role in some of bungie's decisions. You go on the Destiny forum and all you see are petty complaints. Things that are not that crucial to the game. IF you go on the destiny 2 forum. People are now complaining about shaders. SHADERS FOR F@*K SAKE!

This article talks about the beta. And while I do agree that Destiny 1 started below average, after the expansions and more than 50 updates it became something I've come to love. With 2k plus hours poured in it (in less than 3 years) it gave me back every cent I spent in it and its expansions. Just started Destiny 2 and its literally Destiny 1 minus all the bullshit and problems. Plus the spaces are way bigger, the sound, music and graphics improved (they were already awesome, but now even better), tons of lore, more missions (narrated and BETTER paced and ingenious), there is actually a story (great one actually), huge amounts of fan/veteran service. Plus much more FUN!! Destiny 2 is what the frist one promised and more. Now, excuse me, but I have to go back to playing.

See that's the problem with Destiny. If you made it your life and had tons of friends for fireteams, bought all the expansions, and dealt with every arbitrary hoop after every arbitrary hoop you were fine.

If you just wanted to put in a few hours here or there (which probably still would of been hundreds of hours by the end), you were screwed. No matchmaking destroyed my desire to play the game. I wasn't going to beg, go to a 3rd party website, and search around messaging people over and over and get exhausted before I even started a strike.

I sure and the hell wasn't going to pay Bungie for all the upcoming expansion packs where I knew I was going to have to do that crap for ALL FUTURE CONTENT.

Create a system of hoops that sucks the fun out of it, and then you tell people to experience it all they'll have to spend all sorts of money (including no discounts for the day 1 digital purchasers) and I'll find something else to play. It's not like I don't own hundreds of games on Steam/PSN/Nintendo/Origin/Upla y/GOG/etc.
