All football fans can finally put their hands on PES 2018 demo. Playable code was released on past and current generation of consoles giving a chance to check how much they are different.
If demo represents actual look of the game then we can expect some major cuts in PS3/X360 editions.
Although player models looks quite nice there are some noticable differences such as lack of pre-match animations, poor stadium details or not so smooth movement animation.
Oh, and there are some hilarious facial animations as well.

I have been playing this series since Winning Eleven 3 on PS1 so i know all about it.
I really don't think PES has improved much (especially since 2015).
The players are just as dumb, you cannot control each player freely and you cannot anticipate opponents next move and place your player where you want to. Moreover, players have this tendency of "pushing" the ball out to corner while my left stick is directed to the opposite direction, goal keepers cannot run and prevent the ball from going to corner (by pressing triangle or X).
If you collide with an opponent, you momentarily lose control of that player and you need time before he can react to the button you are pushing (too late the ball is lost and taken by a player who came from so far away)..
these flaws have been there since PS1... they still cant offer a fix.
I agree with this. Certain aspects of PES are great but it still has fundamental flaws from years ago and the presentation is still atrocious. Tried demo of 2019 hoping it was an exception but deleted after one match.
Don't take that as a recommendation for the opposition though - both flawed in various departments...
They still automatically pass to the offside player too. Skipped football games last year. Any suggestions as to which I should pick up this year?
been playing PES until this year.. i still got 2018 but i played fifa most because of the world cup update.
I dont think you good a the game, i have never had the problem your pointing out and i have played all the pes games. Practices more get better all you complaints shows me that you havent learned to play the game yet.

Pes is absolutely the king and has always been that, and now they have some great licenses as well, looking good. Only this fifa has been in front with are the licenses.

PES online is an absolute joke.
i like the courtesy system though cause there are so many quitters in FIFA.
Online doesn't work in either one, big time lag and slow down, never play it, så unbelievable irritating to play with even the slightest lag or slowdown.
i agree with you regarding the lag, but at least you find people and it runs most of the time well in fifa.
imagine in PES you wait 10min for aplayer and when you start the match it lags like crazy.. much worse

i tried the demo yesterday and it plays great!!! Can really feel the improvements over 2017.

If I had to base my purchase on the thumbnail for that video I'd definitely buy the PS3 version so I wouldn't have nightmares.

I got the PS4 demo and it does look gorgeous, Suarez doesn't but then that's true to life, the PS3 version still looks good too. I buy football games every two years and the last one was PES 2016, this new one looks much better and feels great to play.
Whats the deal with the skin loosing detail on the Pro version, it actually looks better on PS3 for some reason. PS3 looks more real and varied while skin on PS4 Pro looks shinny and wax like in the comparison shots?
