Movies Games and Tech writes: Whilst I was aware of the ‘Ys’ series of Japanese RPG, I have never had the opportunity to play any entry until. This is the eighth game in the series and originally launched on PS Vita in Japan in 2016. Now for the first time in the series, it has come to the PS4 here in the West and I finally get a chance to see what this series has to offer.
Today Nihon Falcon shared a lot of sweet gameplay of the upcoming action JRPG Ys X: Nordics, showing multiple aspects of the game.
Hopefully they release the NA version not too long after or at least offer an English dub version for Asia at launch and I would end up buying both.
I hope these stages and time limits were done for the demo only. I still have to finish 9, love the games but falcom need a bigger budget to upgrade their engine, these games still look like ps2 era graphics lol
A look at Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana Deluxe Edition for PlayStation 5, made by Falcom and released by NIS Europe in 2022.
Jason Hidalgo: "Nearly seven years after first releasing on Vita, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana holds up incredibly well even today. Despite its old-school aesthetics, the game looks nice and runs especially well on the PS5, thanks to its high and consistent frame rate. Granted, the old-school gameplay might not float the boat of folks who want something more modern. For fans of classic JRPGs, however, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana’s interesting characters combined with its fun action combat and base-building and crafting mechanics make it one of the best games I’ve ever played in the genre."
Adol & Sora are the few JRPG characters that appear in most games as the primary character in their respective franchises
Most other JRPGs have a new protagonist for most installments
Played the demo last night, its pretty cool. The combat is great, love the character swap and dodge mechanics. Never played an YS game before, gonna get this.
