.hack//G.U. Last Recode will release in Europe at the same time as it will in North America this November.
.hack (Dot Hack) is a gaming series that started when technology was still evolving and growing. These games showed us some of the horrors but also the best parts of online gaming. But these games are decades old, and perhaps it's time for a remake, a remaster, or even a game in the series.
the OG games, yes they do.
but.. they are very niche to begin with.
bk then, i only knew one person who played the games, beside me.
The Xenosaga trilogy also needs a remake or at least a remaster. I never got into .hack when they came out on the PS2 I would try them out. A remake or a remaster would be great I am not paying an arm and a leg for the original games.
Anime tie-in games are nothing new, but they often fall short of fan expectations. The .hack games did it right, and developers could learn from them.
Today Bandai Namco is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the .hack series of JRPGs developed by CyberConnect2.
Played the hell out of the original games back in the day, but never got to the GU series.
Was really hoping this was a big compilation of the games, but oh well lol.
The FFVII Remake will be released episodically like the .hack series
The .hack series to me is cross media done right (unlike FFXV). The games are well self contained and give a full experience without feeling like something was left out. The animes and the terminal disc don't have info that should be in the game, they have info that enhances the full package that core game already offers. FFXV has it the other way around where the game is hollow and you NEED the other content to know whats going on in the story. It makes the game feel empty and it shows.
Looks cool. I've never tried this series. Any good?
