I've been playing this game for about 3 years now. I'm burnt out on it yes but only cuz there's so many other games to play and earning new items in this game takes quite some time. Doesn't help that they're too heavily overpriced to ever bother considering shark cards.

Heli892433d ago

That is the racket no? Basically to force shark cards on people to get them to alleviate the grind a bit?

Patricko2433d ago (Edited 2433d ago )

I was playing since the launch of Online. I seriously disliked Rockstar for their greedy movements like making every weapon and apartment more expensive and less rewarding missions. I'm not getting mad for people who are using exploits to get money, because that's what R* bring on their own heads. They are keep releasing cars and new houses or yachts, but why do I need it? You just need one house and garage and you are good. What this game is missing are way too few coop missions. Only 4 heists and repeatable coop missions... Why should I buy another pointless car if there is no point in using it anywhere. Playing with randoms who kills each other constantly doesn't bring fun at all.

TheSaint2433d ago

Exactly, no one needs it, they want it. Big difference.

IM a ps4 player so yea theres tons of games I have to juggle, plus the fact that im broke on gta online compared to everyone else T_T

Cyro2433d ago

Glad I know where to get money drops otherwise I would have stopped playing completely a long time ago.

Master of Unlocking2433d ago (Edited 2433d ago )

And where is that? :)
I wouldn't mind grinding for hours, days, weeks, months, years even to get all the stuff I want in GTA V (a yacht, bikers' hangouts, luxury cars and properties, etc) if I was sure I'll get to keep these forever, but they're unfortunately probably going to close the lid on GTA Online at some point and, even if that were to happen only 10 years from now (and let's be honest with ourselves, it will happen much sooner than that), I'll still be extremely pissed at R* if they don't somehow allow us to at least transfer our GTA Online content over to the single-player portion of the game before they shut down GTA Online for good. Actually it's completely abnormal and due to their sole greed that I can't fly my Hydra jet with Mickael or Trevor, because then players would'nt be so keen on purchasing their Shark dollars if they could buy all the stuff in the single-portion of the game, but, you know what? Even if they don't put all those items from GTA online on offer for sale in the single-player portion of the game, they should at least automatically give us access to whatever we've purchased online in the SP part. This I feel is the absolute minimum they should do. After all those real-estate signs have been in the SP right from the start, so it's long overdue.

Thar she blows! That be a whale!! Let's talk to them mateys!

phoenixwing33d ago

@disagrees
Didn't have a good rebuttal did you? We all know the select players are whales who waste thousands or hundreds of thousands on the games currency. You expect them to make the same kinds of demands as everyone else? Keep dreaming.

Inverno32d ago

Well that and most likely streamers who have helped harpoon all those whales lolz.

Why is this news? Is this supposed to be some sort of heads up to those involved?

Kombatologist39d ago

Why shouldn't this be news? If you play the game at all, you'd know this has been a problem for a while. Tell me, how is it fair for legit low-level players to be grieved by players using modded accounts with disposable amounts of cash? It's about time Rockstar did something about these losers.

BISHOP-BRASIL39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

Not that I really played it in forever, but the way I used to roll on online once I realize I had no interest in actually doing heists and micromanaging property and shit, the moment someone decided to pick a fight I'd just leave towards north, jump the fence of the army base, steal a jet and grief away... Pro tip: they can't really make you pay for other players cars when you have not one single penny to your name.

EDIT: Got carried away... Anyway, my point was, you can grief without money, this is not stopping it.

Kombatologist38d ago

@BISHOP-BRASIL

I get what you're trying to say, but it's a false equivalence. Anyone could jump the fence and grab a jet back in the day. The dynamic changed once R* started introducing militarized vehicles, such as flying motorcycles with homing rockets, a stealth helicopter, and most recently, a stealth jet. There's so many militarized vehicles now, you really have to keep up with the latest and greatest in order to defend yourself from that shit, which is really expensive to do. Sure, you could make the argument that Shark Cards give players the same advantage as a modded account. The thing is, they don't. Not even close. A modded account can have ANY amount of money, as well as ANY weapon and/or vehicle, even ones that aren't available in the game yet (as long as they're in the datafiles). Some of them even have glitched characters with invisible limbs/weapons. This is an unfair advantage to anyone who plays legitimately and nobody should have to risk getting their accounts permanently banned from stooping to the same level just to compete. Furthermore, making money is really easy to do now. Which begs the question: Why buy a modded account in the first place? I think the answer is obvious.

So this is news because a Twitter guy says so :)
