500k is around what the Yakuza titles do each entry and they make those games like clockwork.

Put it this way, if Sega felt the sales of 500k was low, you would not actually be seeing 10 Yakuza games lol

I mean...damn buddy, even if you didn't know, use some context clues, read about their sales etc. Don't you think it'd be odd for a company to continue making a series for over 10 years that moved low units for them? I just don't think 500k is low if they are still making entries, that doesn't sound like a company mad at a series sales numbers.

I mean...you know of a company that sells numbers they don't like, yet spend over 10 years STILL releasing the same series? 500k imho is fair, that is what Sega is ok with from Yakuza series, a series with over 10 titles...I'd assume that is what they'd be ok with considering Shenmue I mean...do you even have any real evidence to suggest otherwise?

I'd think so, but since they don't look to be distributing these future Shenmue games, let alone fund them, I don't know if they'd feel as compelled selling to do so when it would benefit them much

Here's hoping they do remaster those games though like they did with a lot of other Dreamcast games

Sega still owns the IP.

I don't recall the licensing deal being for many titles. Sega very much could make another Shenmue title, especially if they see Shenmue 3 doing really well.

I know Sega still owns Shenmue, as further evidenced by Ryo appearing in Project X Zone 2.

I'm just saying with the arrangement of how Shenmue 3 is coming along(with it partially being funded by Sony & Kickstarter while being published by Deep Silver rather than Sega handling both duties themselves as the IP holder) that I doubt Sega would get heavily involved with the future of this franchise. They may just decide to continue diverting that attention to the more successful Yakuza series instead.

I'd ask Sega that first, they own the IP. From what it sounds like ,Sega is already working on a remaster of 1 and 2 or even remake.

I don't know how I fee' about this honestly. The problem we have faced for over a decade is that we were never able to finish the story. There's no guarantee that this game will be successful...I want closure to the story... don't try and drag it out because we might not actually get an ending.
