Yeah. No man's sky is definitely a "wait and see."

Actually NMS is amazing now, there is tons to do, large side quests and missions, the world generation is much better and the story is branching and much improved. Space and ground combat have been re-balanced especially in survival and they have added a variety of combat encounters. NMS is one of the best games out there at this point. I stopped playing it shortly after launch but I decided to come back for 1.3 it's great. I'm currently building up my base as I move towards the center while doing missions and as many side quests as I can find.

People who decided they were going to hate the game and talk it down forever will never be swayed but almost universally people who have given it a try are extremely pleased and having tons of fun. On Steam if you look at the recent reviews the game has attained a positive status which I would say attests to how good it's become.

Aren't 90% of the side quests simple fetch or kill quests? I got bored of them pretty quick, especially since you have to fly back to the space station every time you're done.

Totally agree, we're on the same tour through the galaxy bud. Maybe I'll see you out there, now that we can.. sort of but it'll keep improving.

Serious question! How do you build up your base while still moving toward the center of the universe? Are you able to "fast travel" to your home planet? or does your base simply move planet to planet with you? How does this work?

Ashlen2860d ago (Edited 2860d ago )

You can teleport back to it from any starbase (then back to the starbase). So you can move towards the center while still having easy access.

And I haven't done this but I understand if you move your base to another planet the first base is removed but you are refunded all the parts. There is a reclaim machine in the base so i assume this is correct.

Developer got shut down so the game didn't really get saved.

AcidDvl2860d ago

30+ plus updates, bugs fixed, online fixed, tons of free content and improvements and one of the best and most rewarding season passes.

Liqu1d2860d ago

I agree with all that but it wasn't enough to save Evolution from being shut down and the IP is effectively dead now.

You can add Driveclub to that list except for developer and the Division

No Man's Sky (Switch 2) - Hello Games' Classic Without Cuts Or Concessions | NintendoLife

"No Man's Sky - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition brings this excellent, constantly evolving space survival adventure to your new Nintendo console in fine style. This is an almost-perfect match for other versions of the game, barring some very minor hiccups here and there.

Combat is still a bit naff, especially in space, and hardcore pirates might not get all they need from the systems in place here, but other than that, this is an almost perfect port of an almighty behemoth of a game. The sky, it seems, really has no limits." - PJ O'Reilly | NintendoLife

I am tempted to get the switch 1 version.

OtterX3d ago

Do it! It's still on sale until next week, then score your free upgrade.

It's so nice being able to continue our save from other platforms while on the go. (For me, PS5, PC & VR) I'm headed out of town this weekend and I plan on taking it with me. :)

That's a nice little surprise.

Honestly I gotta hand it to Hello Games. They really turned this game into something else with their dedication to it. A rocky start, but the game is unrecognizable to what we had at launch.

MAN, Hello Games just keeps on trucking with this game, and are REALLY showing other developers how to earn some good will with their fans.

Stoked for Light No Fire.
