It looks like Sonic Mania will not have any Gold or Platinum Trophies
Good game incoming
That's not going to deter my enjoyment
Same. I would like a platinum, but now I'll at least be pouring over the levels purely for fun.
no gold for beating the game? LOL df?
That's a bummer.
Switch it is
Well that something to be afraid of, platinium trophy means atleast 4/6 hours game thats why ground zero dont have one.
Nonsense, 'My name is Mayo' and that stupid picture puzzle game have a Platinum.
Well most old school Sonic games can be completed easily in less than an hour. Wouldn't 4 to 6 hours be a stretch?
It's not reliant on game length. It comes down to what the publisher licenses to have the trophy allocation to get the different levels of trophy offerings.
Oh no however will I enjoy this game without gold or platinum trophies
Fine by me.. Im looking for fun
Because in some people's warped minds, trophies matter? "You have completed the most basic of things. Here, you can feel special with this 'trophy'. "
Not how trophies work generally. And trophies do matter to some. To each their own.
But why :(
Because of laziness (?)
How does it not even have a gold lol
I would think only trophy whores care about this, otherwise enjoy.
Greg Miller is not gonna like that!
It should come with 1000GS for Xbox. I have the CE for Xbox One pre-ordered. It sucks for PS4 players having only cheap ass trophies. The trophy hunting community is pretty big, they will want more than this.
I cancelled my pre-order of the CE because it didn't have an actual game in the box. Statue was awesome, but just a digital game code means it's not a collectible game, just a statue that happens to come with a game code. I'll probably get the game at some point when I feel like playing a sonic game again. Trophy support wouldn't matter so much to me.
Biggest sign of laziness when a developer puts zero effort into a platinum trophy
I preordered the collectors edition of the game for the PS4. I wanted the statue over everything else. This not having a platinum trophy just blows. I will just sell the game/code and everything else and keep the statue. Make a portion of my money back.
Hope there's a trophy for holding right for a whole level :P
The reason I say its fine is I probably never would have attained it, especially if there are timed based trophies in it.
Good. Games used to be made to be a complete experience, from start to end. There was no need for DLC or trophies as progressing through the game is accomplishment enough.
I looked at the list, and while a gold or plat isn't available, why does it matter that much to have one? When I can afford it I'm going to play the game. Why? I'm a big fan of 2D Sonic, and I like the Sonic CD remaster on the PS3 they made. Lack of Plat and/or Gold trophies is the least of my concerns; how fun is the game? That's the important question. Edit: I see some of the responses are blatant trolling, and sarcasm; either way it's still a question of who cares and why does it make that much of a difference?
It doesn't really matter to the game itself. But in the real world, a good trophy list can help sell a game. There are lots of people who seek such things out. For better or worse, it seems silly to not have one given the nature of the game, as it has as much, if not more content than other games which offer it. This is a rather high profile game, so it surprises me that it doesn't have one.
I still don't see how trophies can help sell a game honestly. It's basically an electronic checklist the designers provide to play the game their way instead of playing how you want to. Bronze - Clear X stage Silver - Kill X and Y boss under Z time Gold - Complete game on hard Plat - No life this game For competitive purposes, for the challenge, and/or to verify someone completed said game, that's one thing. However, to base a purchase off of a game you might play only until the plat (or max trophies) is obtained, to only move on to another game, is a waste. And I'm not talking about you Rain, just in general.
There are people that look for games with trophies to achieve. There are rather large communities that focus on such things. I don't think it's the vast majority, but certainly it doesn't hurt the sales. Games with easy plats tend to sell more than one would likely assume just because they're easy. How we feel about it is irrelevant, because how we may feel about it doesn't matter to others.
