Haven't read the changelog, but if multiplayer has any sort of system to join a friend, I might actually get this game again. I know the original plan was to make finding players 100% random and highly improbable, but I'd rather just be able to join a friend directly at this point.

Should be able to at least meet up, with the additions of portals it is a lot easier now as well

Is this game good with all the updates it's received ? I've never tried it. But, I'm interested in it.

If you like space exploration games or games like Fortnite or Minecraft where you collect resources and use them to build things then yes its worth it for sure.

Apart from this untested recent update, the answer is no, it is not a good game by any way. It is actually a very bad game. It cannot be compared with awesomely designed games like Minecraft or Terraria. It is like comparing The Order with Uncharted ("if you like games with stories").

The "discovery" sense of each planet last only about a few seconds. You saw one picture of a planet, you saw it all. It is a giant game full of pure repetition.

The creature variety is a complete joke. Again, you saw a few creatures, you saw it all. "Oh, but millions of variations". Yeah, minuscule changes in about 10 archetypes or less.

The game design... Grind, grind, grind. Spend 30 minutes or more gathering materials, fly to a new repetitive planet. Wait minutes until you reach there. 10 seconds and you saw it all again.

If the game had the speed they have shown in the reveal trailer, it would be nice, but its rhythm and loading times (even when disguised by minutes of "space flying") is a complete tragedy.

Now wait a minute there.. what if you love The Order and Uncharted?

^ No problem, but these are usually thought as "a game that went wrong" and "a top notch game".

It is a great game - if you like its mechanics and crafting/farming/grinding/expl oration.

It’s drastically different to how it was at launch, even before 1.3..

Sure, I enjoyed the time I spent with it, even before the updates, so I'd say if you like exploration type games, go for it. There's not a lot of handholding or signposts, it seems to be a game aimed more at the more imaginative individual who likes to plot their own adventure, and they seem to have really built upon that idea with the updates. There's a lot of people who are still really bitter, but I'd say at least give it a shot, if you're into that sort of thing.

I'm gonna have to pick this up at some point.

Since this update I've been enjoying exploring planets a lot more, they have real character now and no longer have that feeling of seen one seen them all. The graphics update makes everything look sharper and more realistic. I haven't got started on the story yet but the game does look and feel a lot better than it did before.

I like these updates, very much.
