New Game Review – Tacoma (Xbox One) | WayTooManyGames

In space, no one can hear you snore

"In the end, Tacoma turned out to be yet another “art game” in which the developers focused more on the “art” aspect than the “game” one. There is little to do in it, little to explore (besides some easter eggs which actually feature a ton of social commentary), no puzzles, no tension, nothing. It’s a totally misplaced audiobook."

Another boring, overpriced walking sim. This genre is the worst.

lptmg2455d ago

you don't even need to walk in order to beat it, you can just stand still

Servbot412454d ago

As far as walking sims go, What Remains of Edith Finch is easily the best, because it features actual little gameplay segments.

lptmg2454d ago

I'd say Stanley Parable. In which, your actions actually influence on the story in multiple ways

pasta_spice2454d ago

The game is getting mostly positive reviews so it's obviously not as bad as this reviewer is saying. Then again I don't mind walking sims (providing they are reasonably priced).

ArnoDorian2455d ago

Who are these walking sims for anyways

coolbeans2455d ago

For me! :D

Honestly, I do enjoy sprinkling them in between other stuff I play. Because of their structure, they're able to explore the surroundings and characters in a more intimate way (if done right). What Remains of Edith Finch is a recent one that comes to mind that tinkered with the template to create some incredibly powerful moments.

Majin-vegeta316d ago

Killzone liberation
Hercs adventure
Worms
Coded souls
The classics this month

meanmallard316d ago

A lot of really good stuff on that list.

The thing I would say stands out is the variety, there are games from all genres literally from FPS shooters with Far Cry 6 to Visual Novel/Choose your own Adventure with Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York and games for all ages that even families with little kids can play, there are some great games parents can play with their kids.

ChasterMies316d ago

Nice to know about “A Hat in Time”.

meanmallard316d ago

Great game highly recommended.
:
Last month's recommendation was Sakuna Of Rice and Ruin

Paw Patrol!

Profchaos316d ago

I was just about to buy that TMNT game last week too

Shane Kim316d ago

I was about to buy it yesterday, because it's on sale. But something just said to me to hold off.

Abnor_Mal316d ago (Edited 316d ago )

Bought the game like a month or two ago, oh well no use crying over it now, good fun game. Can we get a remaster of the Hyperstone Heist next.

CoNn3rB315d ago

So this is the power of ultra instinct

-Ghost316d ago

Rogue Legacy 2 coming to PS finally. Can't wait to try it out.

meanmallard316d ago

It's pretty cool they're having a whole campaign with the rollout of more cloud support.

If I'm reading it correctly they are even adding cloud support for digital games you own outside of PSPlus

We’re currently testing cloud streaming for supported PS5 games – this includes PS5 titles from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Game Trials, ------>as well as supported digital PS5 titles that players own <-------

Puty316d ago

Yeah. Still unavailable in lot of countries in Europe though.

shinoff2183315d ago

I'm not sure alot of ps fans care about cloud.

JackBNimble315d ago

No, but if I had access to my ps3 library via cloud I would be happy.
I'm surprised sony doesn't offer that as a solution to BC for purchased ps3 digital games.

Top 10 Walking Simulators on Xbox One

Dave writes: "If you’re a fan of walking simulators, then the name probably sticks in the throat, but let’s ‘own it’ and chuck the best and mightiest of the genre into a bear pit and let them have at it! Hoo-rah! As with most genre lists, there’s some controversy about what does or doesn’t constitute a walking simulator. Dialogue and navigation is preferred over puzzles and more intensive interaction like combat or QTEs. Jumping/crouching is positively frowned upon. Strap on your hiking boots and let’s ramble!"
