The release schedule for the Nintendo Switch is picking up steam, with some great single-player games on the way in August.
Following the creative director's exit in July.
This week marks the seventh anniversary of Sonic Mania and although there are no announcements to go with it, the game's developer Christian Whitehead has taken to social media - sharing some trivia you might not have known about.

like, its easy money right? but. you know.
My theory is that Sonic Team were kind of annoyed how well received Mania was despite all their efforts in the past of doing a good Sonic game…it took a fan team to do it. Even the soundtrack is glorious.
So instead of doing Mania 2 they thought “nah we can do it better, let’s do Superstars…but let’s add something unnecessary like try to make it a a co-op game like the 2D Mario games since we can’t help ourselves”.
yeh, segas Obsession making sonic 3d is abit odd.

The dev team wanted to make their own original game, and they created Penny's Big Breakaway, which seems to have garnered a fair amount of praise. I have yet to play it though.

For me, these Mario + Rabbids games were the best thing Ubisoft has developed in recent years. I'd hate to see Ubisoft drive the series into the ground like their other properties, so I think 2 games are enough. Maybe 1 more.
They can't ruin it because Ninty will send their ninjas to destroy all traces of it. If not for that you can bet that spinoff series would've been milked dry by now.
Great games, I have wanted Sony to copy these games with their own mascots for years.
I think Nintendo has to hire this guy, I mean the fact that miuamoto himself said to him that he is impressed with this work, speaks volumes. Th possibility on having Mario on Soliani's hand could be incredible and quite possibly a new era for Mario games.
Yea, these games didn't even feel Ubisoft at all. This felt very authentic Nintendo. This guy's direction is obviously stellar, and Ubisoft somehow managed to not kill it with microtransactions and repetitive, boring tasks.
Mario + Rabbids and Sonic Mania for me.
I may cave and get Axiom Verge again(have it on my Vita) and if Azure Striker Gunvolt is anything like the MegaMan X series, count me in.
Good list but Sonic Mania and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom battle are both Multiplayer to a degree.
Great lineup Nintendo is nailing those big single player story based releases!
