Virtuos porting a AAA title to Switch

Virtuos has worked on all sorts of ports and remasters in the past. Their previous projects include Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy X/X-2, HD, Batman: Return to Arkham, Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection, and plenty more. Now the studio is turning its attention to Switch.

Hmm, wonder what the most likely possibility is...

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2878d ago

Either Assassin's Creed or one of the Final Fantasy Remaster.

If I had to guess it would be Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD. If that the case I'll play Final Fantasy X for the 4th time again.

wonderfulmonkeyman2878d ago

If they do FF X and X-2, I'd be playing them for the first time, here.
And if they do an Assassin's Creed title, it won't be the latest one; likely a port of an older one.

Segata2878d ago

Isn't LA Noire rumored for the Switch?

porkChop2878d ago

Hmm. Looking at their catalog, they've worked with multiple publishers. It could be any game for all we know. Hopefully it's a good one though.

PhoenixUp2878d ago

Please be Super Mario Galaxy HD Collection

_-EDMIX-_2878d ago

I'm not saying no, but wouldn't it likely be Mario Land from Wii U?

It also could be something from Ubisoft or Square since they've worked with this port team in the past before.

What if its Bravely Default and Second or even Assassin's Creed collection from last gen?

Omnislashver362878d ago

Galaxy looks amazeballs in HD though. I could easily see it being that game.

porkChop2878d ago

I would take the Bravely games in a heartbeat. But, do we classify those as AAA games though? AAA normally means big budget/high production values.

Segata2878d ago

Mario 3D World is on Wii U. That's something Nintendo could do themselves. Mario Land is a Game Boy game. Mario 3D Land is a 3DS game. Bravely Default isn't an AAA game.

_-EDMIX-_2878d ago

@sega-my response was simply based on him stating Galaxy it had nothing to do with this actual developer.

@pork-I also hope they poured over the Bravely Default games but I don't think that's what this team is talking about as you're right I don't think I would classify them as AAA.

I think it might be the Assassin's Creed games.

wonderfulmonkeyman2878d ago

If they do a remake of the original Bravely with new graphics and a revamped second half just for Switch, and include Bravely 2 into the bargain even without huge changes, that would be a big seller for Switch.

_-EDMIX-_2877d ago

@Wonderful- I think it'd be too soon for full on Bravely Default remake, but its Square lol

I'd buy that in a HEART BEAT!

I'd say Bravely Default and Animal Crossing are my most played games on 3DS with well over 300 hours (granted I've played Bravely Default like 4 times)

They might make a remaster of both games on Switch before Bravely 3rd games out.

or they might make it look like World Of Final Fantasy ala remake of FFIV if anyone remembers that on DS.

or the game they are talking about might be World Of Final Fantasy, or it could even be FFXIV!

Didn't Square say that was something they were looking into or?

Could work. Many need to remember that FFXIV is also on PS3, so it very much can work on Switch no questions asked.

Could also be the KH collection.

Mario Land isn't on Wii U, that's a Game Boy game

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2878d ago

Miyamoto already said no to past Mario remakes.

_-EDMIX-_2878d ago

But clearly it would not be the first time a developer has stated no and something happening anyway.

And I think Phoenix is just hoping.

Outlawzz2878d ago

Nice hopefully it's announced soon

The director of the original Silent Hill: “I look forward to seeing bold interpretations.”

Keiichiro Toyama—the creator and original director of the 1999 Silent Hill—shared his personal thoughts on the recently announced remake by Konami, reflecting on what the project means to him after more than two decades:
“I felt something similar when the game was adapted into a movie. It deeply moved me to see the names of the characters and locations I had created come to life visually, even though I wasn’t directly involved. That wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support of the fans and the dedication of the developers who’ve kept the series alive.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how the remake evolves this time. With the advanced technology we now have, I’m sure I’ll be surprised by how the game is reimagined. Since the original was built for the first PlayStation, there will naturally be challenges—like the camera and controls—but I’m eager to see bold and creative solutions to those elements.”

Haha Not only is bold and creatively not what the industry wants, it’s not what most people want.

They want to get scammed and pay twice for a thing they already own.
