Hellblade Features 'Groundbreaking' Tech Not Even Star Wars or Avatar Have

For the developers at Ninja Theory, they are in possession of groundbreaking tech used to create Hellblade, tech not even James Cameron can boast about.

They've always had interesting tech. Heavenly Sword back in the day was ahead of its time for her hair.

FITSniper2456d ago

I actually played that and found it quite good.

bouzebbal2455d ago

Apart from enslaved, all their games are decent

Trilithon2456d ago

way ahead of its time. the boss fight at the end was epic. that game was awesome

leahcim2456d ago

now that you mention it they are magicians for final boss fights. ENSLAVED final boss fight was awesome

yeahokwhatever2456d ago

It was ahead of its time for everything. I wish we could get a nice, smooth, 1080p supersampled version for PS4/Pro.

Heavenly Sword was a spectacular game, however due to PS3 getting out of the gate slow, the game didn't sell well on release. I'm still waiting for this to become a PS Now game with trophy support :) lOl.

IRetrouk2456d ago

It sold over a million copies though, it was the dev that said he wasnt happy with the performance, which is a shame cause i think a sequel would have been epic.

C-H-E-F2455d ago

@iRetrouk it sold a million after it's first year and here we are 10 years later and the game sold only 1.68, i'm sure they didn't make much money in profit off of that game, seeing that it was a initial PS3 game, using the cell processor and such, development had to have cost atleast 10 million, then they entered into a deal with sony so sony probably took about 10 million and then they had to advertise that cost about 10 million++, amongst other costs and paying of shareholders they couldn't even break even.

Here's an article as well backing my claims, of the financial side to it, I don't think many people look at development as parts it costs alot of money to make games especially ps3 games in its inception.

http://www.playstationlifes...

"Speaking during an interview with CVG, co-founder of Ninja Theory, Tameem Antoniades, stated the company did not even break even for Heavenly Sword:

It’s difficult. Heavenly Sword came out pretty early on the PS3, and we sold, I think, a million and a half copies, and that’s still not enough as an independent studio to break even."

abstractel2456d ago

Wish they had a shot at Heavenly Sword 2. I am sure it'd play way better with their experience. I enjoyed the first one it wasn't without its fault.

except that tech is available to everyone. In fact, I have it right now installed on my computer. It's part of Unreal Engine 4, which is free and publicly available.

Avatar didn't have that because it was in 2009. But Star Wars Rogue One used that tech for their robot character

Wasn't looking into this game much, until you mentioned this, holy hell it's going to be here in a week, $30, and is looking great!

phoenixwing2456d ago

will be buying. I saw some of their tech in action where they were able to render a scene in real time using actors and weird headset contraption to capture the face. It was on a video some time ago. The result was very good.

GamesMaster19822456d ago (Edited 2456d ago )

Bring on the Reviews so i know if its lived up to the hype then its either a day one buy from me, or a never buy.

nucky642456d ago

if you base purchases on reviews (i.e. someone elses opinion), you could be missing out on some great gaming.

Nacho_Z2456d ago

Could be, it also helps save time and money by not buying crap. Reviews plural can help you decide.

thekhurg2456d ago

Terrible response. Opinions matter to many people. Ignorant gamers that just buy EVERYTHING are the fools in the industry that publishers love.

madforaday2456d ago

Hype is a made up thing that people make inside their heads, based on what they see and/or hear. Of course, you can have games like No Man Sky which the developers lied about game play features to hype it up. The most part, what you see is what you get. Hype comes from within. When you read a review make sure you know that person and what he/she likes before judging. A review can be a great way to figure something out but if you have someone you really dislikes 3rd person shooters and is reviewing one. He may have a different angle that he is coming with.

RememberThe3572456d ago

Screw all these other guys, gaming is expensive, use whatever source you have to narrow down your options.

Ashunderfire862456d ago

Why not look at twitch stream to see how the game plays in action. That is the best review ever!

Yui_Suzumiya2450d ago (Edited 2450d ago )

If I listened to reviews I would've been bored to death by something like GTA and would've missed out on something fun like Duke Nukem Forever, The Order: 1886 or Mirror's Edge: Catalyst.

GamesMaster19822450d ago (Edited 2450d ago )

I don't base all my decision on a Review it just gives me an example of if the game is decent or not. For example i would buy any Silent Hill or Metal Gear without looking at a review as they are 2 of my favourite series.
