Nintendo launched their online app for the Switch just last week and players have finally gotten hands on time with it. This app was designed to help players set up lobbies and even do voice chat through mobile devices instead of the console itself to potentially make things simpler for the system overall, but has yet to prove itself to those using it. So far the app is only compatible with Splatoon 2 and while it offers some nice features, some aspects still seem like they have a ways to go before it can be considered a necessity for the Switch.
Nintendo continues to bolster its Switch Online + Expansion Pack service with new game releases. Today, the focus is on the base tier, with a whopping seven games added to the NES library.
Pretty lousy lineup, considering how long we've waited since the last NES update.
Do we really need Golf when we already had NES Open Tournament Golf, which is almost identical in graphics and gameplay?
Nintendo's Direct broadcast airs later today.
Pretty lame actually. I checked it outand the only difference I see are 3 boxes to scroll through.
There's probably something more going on in the backend prepping for something in the future if they gave it a 3.0.0
Mega Man's Game Boy series slides onto Nintendo Switch Online today!.
This makes me really happy because I own all of the Mega Man collections on Switch, but it always bothered me that they excluded these OG Gameboy titles.
Hopefully they'll add Mega Man Xtreme 1&2 for GBC later on, bc those were also missing from the collections.
5 MegaMan titles at once, now that's some good update, it's time for me to bring out the hopium for a new MegaMan
Maybe this means Mega Man 64 is around the corner, too. Would be a fun addition on top of these.
Nintendo's online efforts have needed work since 2002.
Yeah. Now tell me something I don't already know.
I'd say it needs much, much more work.
I dislike the lack of native voice chat and the friends system could use updates. On the positive, I've had smooth gameplay and I like that I don't get hostile messages from strangers if I have an off-round (which has happened on both Xbox and PlayStation before).
Nintendo of today is Sony of 2006.
