Kit Fox at GameCloud writes: "When I first started seeing the teasers for Ever Oasis, I have to say I had high hopes. The art popped, there was an unusual Egyptian style to the world, and the characters shown stood out creatively. It’s such a shame the rest of the game is a disjointed mess of ill-fitting parts sliced out of other game genres and better games. It tries to bring in some fun gameplay concepts, but it ends up putting in too much. A more focused game aimed at building its world and characters up, while emphasising the quest, would have been radically better than what we did get. If you’re looking for a game with very minimal stakes to kill some time, by all means, give it a shot. There are a lot worse ways you could spend your time I suppose, but there are also a lot better games that time could be spent on, and it sucks I can’t say Ever Oasis is one of them. "
With the ever growing popularity of the Switch, it seems inevitable that Nintendo are going to focus their efforts on releasing new games for their newest console. With few upcoming releases for the 3DS, it seems likely that the popular evolved handhold console has seen it’s day. As a tribute, we have collaborated a list of what we think were the 15 best games for Nintendo 3DS.
Definitely a solid list. I might be in the minority on this, but I didn't really care for the kids Icarus game. Interesting use of the stylus, but just meh to me.
I did not either, but once I played it, I actually really liked it, took me a while to get into, but def. one of my favorite 3DS games!

So many hyped games can end up being disappointing, but what about those that folks didn't give much attention to that turned out awesome? Let's continue being positive here at the SuperPhillip Central Best of 2017 Awards with the nominees for the Biggest Surprises of the year. These are games that astonished me with their quality, almost coming out of nowhere to excite and fascinate. Some were more interesting than I originally gave them credit for, but after playing these games, my attitude shifting drastically. As always with the awards on SuperPhillip Central, I unfortunately can't play every game released in a given year, so don't be too hard on the award show for missing any of your picks. I might have simply not played them. Now, onto the Top Five Biggest Surprises of 2017!"
