To add to what DaDrunkenJester wrote, in addition to preorders opening up at Gamescom, I would not be surprised to also see Microsoft lay out some trade in incentives.
@Ding - sorry but FCC approval does not prevent the production of a product. Just sale of a product or marketing there of on sale of a product in the US. Component production parts can still be justifiably started and any supposed adjustments if needed can be made during assembly stages. Many of the components themselves are already approved separately and simply the entire XB1X itself has not been FCC approved yet.
From what I have heard it is at the TCB level of approval.
MS's cloud computing has been used by Fortune 500 companies for years now. The only ones doubting the tech are Sonyponydimwits.
======================
lol Bless. So what games do the Fortune 500 develop/ Publish??
This crap has been going on since before the POS Xbone was released, owing to Micro$hafts inferiority complex at their feeble XBone set top box.. Then as now they were claiming 5 Terra Frocks Digital Foundry debunked that shit before the Xbone was released..

Xbox One will sit in your living room and burn through not the paltry 1.2 teraflops of computing power as was rumoured, but almost five teraflops - as much as the flagship £800 NVIDIA Titan graphics card. And then it will get faster and faster over time. At least, that's if the latest Microsoft PR campaign is to be believed. But how realistic is it to move game processing to "the cloud" and keep adding to the resources developers have available? Do Microsoft's claims have any basis in reality? Is this a tactical play to compete against the tangibly superior fixed-spec of the PlayStation 4 or is this really just wishful thinking?
============================= =
So you Xboneheads were supposed to get 5 terra frocks which would only get faster and faster over time.. How's that working out for you Bubba??? Come on numbnuts show us Sonyponydimwits how wrong we are. Come on Bubba, put us in our place.. CLUE Half-tard, if the powurz of the clowdziz were true, Micro$haft wouldn't NEED to release the XboneX you dullard.
Xboneheads keep stating its PS fans who talk about power, when it's Micro$hafts inferiority complex about their crappy Xbone which was the culprit.
Also Micro$haft rushed the Xb360 to the market and even with an external PSU the crap was collapsing with the 3 RRoD... Forward to the Xbone release and we find yet again a mobile processor, inferior to the PS 4 needs an external PSU and a case the size of an old Betamax player from the 70s. Forward to the XboneX and we find this mobile processor which only runs 1.5Ghz faster than the PS 4 Pro [ie 2.3Ghz v 2.15 Ghz] now needs vapour cooling ala a fridge. For what exactly a mid gen console??
Sony has played a blinder on those MS clowns. They announced the uberrace's PS 4 March 2013.. by July 2013 the PS 4 devkit passed FCC revealing
again 2.75Ghz. So Sony still has 6Ghz to play around with before having to release a PS 5. to put that into context numbnuts, thats the equivalent of 20 PS2s which ran @ 299Mhz.
Sony doesn't need FCC approval as the pro is a TRUE mid-gen upgrade, the XboneX otoh is a new untried tech which they announced over a year ago and isn't being released until Nov 2017.
Now off you trot little MS piggy and show us something which will make us believe that you aren't a pig-ignorant Xbonehead who swallowed Micro$hafts lies.
Really? This is the first time I've ever heard there was potential for a delay. Since I'd wager I'm part of the SDF, why are you placing the blame on us? I haven't seen anyone state that they think it's going to be delayed.
Come onto Twitter. There's a whole other level to the SDF. You guys on N4G are low level... come to Twitter and GAF where the big boys of the SDF are. Then you'll see where rumors like this get started. ;)
That one made up by some random guy on some unknown website, that no one read or heard about.
Rumor nowadays means any random speculation or BS that anyone can think of that happens to get a mention anywhere on the internet, regardless of if it's read by no one, or a million people.
Ohhhhh I get it now.....there have been no delay rumors but because Microsoft has absolutely nothing else to talk about, games or anything else concerning Xbox they put out Phil Spencer to make a statement and pretend like there were rumors. This is just great work by the Microsoft PR department. Now if only the Microsoft 1st party devs were as good at making games and when I say games I mean "any games" as their PR Department is with PR stunts and statements. Microsoft would have a console worth having.
Ohhhh one more thing...to my Xbox bros....I kid!
PS....not really! Lol
They took that long so they released a proper refresh, and not a half baked semi refresh. I mean both consoles had been in development for quite some time, they were both leaked at around the same time. But one had a lot more thought put into it.
I'm sure the haters would rather rush release it than delay it, not gonna be a challenge either way in its current state... POWER!!! and fruit Ninja skyrim Forza 7 and 3 hours of crackdown.... sounds like crackdown VR length game Haha. Hence why I not spent £350 on VR to then play an hour of this or 2 hours of that.
Which could mean few things. Din get approval because
1) hazardous (will not be released)
2) suggestions to reduce few things which are above range... So delayed
Or my favorite guess ;-)
3) sony paid for it ;-) (just kidding)
But i am pretty sure that it is not hazardous to not get approval. May be hazardous to Pro.
It'll be approved. MS wouldn't have even sent it in for approval if their engineers didn't go over all the requirements to pass approval. Those engineers aren't amateurs.
The only thing required to sell without fines in the US is that the device doesn't interfere with other things through erronious electromagnetic transmissions(like when you hear a buzz through a phone when you get too close to another electronics device). That's not terribly hard to manage.
FCC approval is needed if MS wants to market or sell certain technical or industry standards as part of their console, and use those things branded on their system, or work with things that work within those standards. The most recognizable example would be things like ISO standards. But these aren't required for actually selling, just to brand the system with such a thing.
There wouldn't be delays. Just few quantity available at launch. Basically whatever they're able to churn out rather than hitting a specific mark if the FCC delays them further on pre-orders.
"Squashes" rumours that don't exist, to try get the XboneX back in the limelight.
Meanwhile Switch & PS4 are getting some pretty big games this fall, holiday & even more going into the new year.
Of course it won't they didn't delay Xbox 1 so why would they with the X they'll just patch it all up post launch. What would they do without it, launch Forza 7 for Christmas and Whackdown3 🙌🏻🙏 27995; Not a whole lot for the busiest part of the year. They'll get it out in whatever state and just patch it.
Hadn't even heard rumours of it being delayed!
After all the game delays and cancellations, I think it would hurt them if the X did get delayed.
What rumors
Clickbait. There have been no rumors.
Nah its marketing agenda.
They act like they are in rush, because their mid gen console took so long to release after 1 year of their competitors.
