I'm so excited for Assassin's Creed Origins. Can't wait to explore Ancient Egypt

Swiftfox2865d ago

"Ancient Egypt". You might be disappointed, mate. The game is set at 49 B.C.E with Cleopatra just 19 years before the mighty Roman Empire conquers the territory in 30 B.C.E. In fact, she was the last Pharaoh the territory would ever see. Heck the last Pyramid ever constructed was 700 years before these events. So saying you can explore Ancient Egypt in this game is like saying "I can't wait to play a game about the new world" and the game taking place in 1760--kinda loses the magic.

I don't mean to steal any excitement but when people think ancient Egypt, they often think of a time predating western civilization and traditions--but those started 480 B.C.E with the the Greek Classical period.

In fact the date puts the Roman Empire closer to their height than the Egyptian territory which again, was on the way out. I wouldn't at all be surprised if the game's narrative heavily focused on the encroaching Romans with heavy themes of tradition, "who we are", and changing of the times motifs.

GTA online desperately needs competition, they have practically monopolized the genre.

I'm most excited for Warframe: Plains of Eidolon.

Hideo Kojima is a little bummed as Death Stranding 2 is testing way better

"I'm not interested in appealing to the mass market, or selling millions of copies."

I’m replaying the first game it’s great. It’s not for everyone no doubt. There are still a lot of people playing it.

Then why do a sequel straight away?

Why not something else like maybe a horror game similar to Silent Hills but rebranded into a new IP.

Reverse psychology...ok I won't buy it then.

To be honest, he is in a great situation if he doesn't have to make a mass market product. Means he can make what he wants. I think that's great.

Palworld preview - ChristCenteredGamer

CCG writes - "Overall, while it certainly has similarities to Pokémon, it's more a survival-style game that happens to have collectible monster-style features and both are pretty fun. Technically, aside from a few minor gripes with controls and performing certain actions, it's pretty solid and quite stable. Morally, it's got some mild if cartoonish violence with little else of note. Overall, I enjoy Palworld, and if you want a survival sim mixed with collectible monsters to make your pals, this is a great game with those themes."
