Some superb RPGs listed here but upscaling PS1 graphics is tricky. The Zodiac Age is just modern enough to look pretty in 1080p, not sure about late 90s games.
i hope square enix do a remake for VAGRANT STORY with same game play and combat in dark souls 3 and replace the idea of hitting enemy body parts ( head, hand , leg .. etc ) with the idea that we see in the surge .
Sweet zombie Jesus that era in gaming was just so good. I know people always say the 16 bit gen rules them all but idk as time passes the beginning of the disk era was just as legendary. Ps1 is and will stay the king of Rpg/Jrpg's, stubbornly as always Nintendo stood with cartridge but in that decision we got the best and will stay the best smooth fast non-downloading legendary platformer galore, then the black sheep which was Sega still was delivering even with all the chaos they seemed to have. Wish they were still here, they were always a good blend of both worlds fun/attitude and definitely fit good as a 3rd viable option. Also if there was a remake I could get FfIX for sure which I consider the best of all Ff. I know this will definitely never happen but I also had so many good memories with a not so known Gem for the Ps1 "Gaurdians Crusade" loved that game
Brave Fencer Musashi!! The Last Remnant seems like it already has about the same graphics or better as Zodiac Age but could use a combat system overhaul. It had too much chance in the battles which was very frustrating. I could do a battle and get destroyed but my friend played it and completely different things would happen. Was very frustrating.
Brave Fencer Musashi
Final Fantasy IX and VIII

Vagrant Story FTW.
If it's a game prior to PS2 then it has to be fully remade instead of remastered
Yep you know Final Fantasy VII ... you update the visual and music and keep the rest of the game as is.. not making it an button mashing game..
