And people still haven't gotten over it.

I understand the guy has been hugely influential on modern videogames, but the way people practically worship him has this creepy cult like idolatry thing going on. Let it go...

AzubuEntus2900d ago

Tbh I didn't know Satoru played a large influence on Nintendo. I thought he was just another regular Nintendo executive.
However if Shigeru Miyamoto suddenly passed away, it'll be hell on earth everywhere.

Ristul2900d ago

Shigeru Miyamoto is a legend, probably the most recognizable person in gaming.

MrMagz2900d ago

You need to look into all that Iwata did then. There are plenty of videos YouTube that show everything he did for Nintendo. Being a big part in the making of the first two Smash Bros games, being there at the origins of Kirby, basically making Pokemon Stadium run on the N64, and, probably most notably, nearly single-handedly coding in the Kanto region into Pokemon Gold and Silver are just a few of his accomplishments while working at Nintendo just as an employee.

TXIDarkAvenger2900d ago

If people want to remember him, then let them be. If it weren't for this article I would have never known. Doesn't seem annoying to me...

You must be new to gaming but that's okay do a little homework about this hobby if you even call it your hobby.

Feels like it has been forever! His impact and loss in gaming is pretty significant.

Testfire2900d ago

Forgive me if this seems insensitive and maybe not the right place, but since his passing it seems like Nintendo has been making better and bolder decisions. I can't help but think he was part of the old guard that's been keeping Nintendo back.

Blank2900d ago

See we can not truly judge how they are doing as a company unless we actually work at Nintendo Japan HQ. it's just his history and programming prowess that helped the company do many things that we probably wouldn't have. In the end I respect him highly due to the games I played that had his name in it even if it's in the thank you section.

The score for the first Plants Vs Zombies is such great, iconic music that it has a timeless quality. Not quite the level of Minecraft, but wonderful in its own right.
