Crash Bandicoot PS4: these people can't believe how hard it is

As Crash Bandicoot returns on PS4, people can't believe how difficult the N. Sane Trilogy is.

affrogamer2638d ago

I honestly don't remember it being this hard as a teenager but I'm struggling to get thru some of the initals stages in Crash 1 lol

FITgamer2638d ago

Mean while I have friends who already got Platinum trophies for all 3 games.

KillZallthebeast2637d ago

Crash 1 was the most difficult by far.

roadkillers2637d ago

I remember Crash 1 being very difficult while crash 2 had a gradual build up before the difficulty set in.

My assumption is the 30 year old age range and younger that played it were young and enjoyed the easy jungle levels.

Vegamyster2637d ago

It has different physics compared to the original which makes you fall slightly quicker & slide off objects. https://twitter.com/DingDon...

TWB2637d ago

Some have discovered that the physics have been altered and it can make some jumps considerably harder if not impossible. Crashes hitbox is also oddly shaped so precise edge landings may slip you off the platform.

Its very much possible to 100% all of the games, but some speedrun tactics and extra life places are no longer possible.

my right thumb is numb right now from desperately pressing the buttons hard. lol. it's difficult, all right.

and how do i keep missing those boxes? where are they hiding? once i missed out 42 boxes. :o

rainslacker2637d ago

I remember when crash first came out I ended up stopping my playthrough of it early because it was frustratingly hard. It wasn't until much later when I went back to it in a retro phase that I actually got through it, and it was still frustratingly hard at times.

Um hella yea, its the first temple runner 🏃

XanderZane2637d ago

It's always been hard. I still haven't beaten any of the games. Reminds me of the Disney and Star Wars games. Games like Mickey and the Castle of Illusion and Super Star Wars series.

Well, getting the the gem in Slippery Climb sure is gonna be fun... -_-

Jinryo2638d ago

Got it yesterday. It took me a couple of tries, but it was fun. Also got all the colored gems. Now white gems and relics.

-Foxtrot2637d ago

Wait until you do the time trial...

Bnet3432637d ago

Currently stuck on Slippery Climb.... My god you have to have elite timing on some of the jumps.

Klonoa-dreamtraveler2638d ago (Edited 2638d ago )

Actually the original is harder as you had to get all the boxes in "one" life you screw up you have to start over they made things in the trilogy more merciful and forgiving than the original.

Though to me the game isn't hard or easy to me it's just right but some peoples tolerance on whats hard is different for everyone though the people comparing it to dark souls or whatever are being over dramatic or are just really bad at the game.

luckytrouble2637d ago

You're thinking of the no death routes that were introduced in Crash 2. Nothing has actually changed in regards to acquiring gems or otherwise.

TWB2637d ago

No, the dude's legit right ALL gems in the original required a perfect run from you. As mentioned in this FAQ for example: https://www.gamefaqs.com/ps...

"There are 26 gems to be found in the Game. You will recieve a Gem when you
complete a level with one life and crash all boxes"

I dont remember if it was intentional, or if it was possibly some sort of a flaw on devs end (like losing all your acquired extra lives after loading a save).

For some reason I also remember the issue being that once you died and spawned back at checkpoint, ALL of the boxes behind you also spawned.

TheOttomatic912637d ago

Actually Klonoa is correct back in the day to get all gems you had to get all the boxes WITHOUT dying once.

I somehow managed to do it when I was younger and my reflexes were far better.

Klonoa-dreamtraveler2637d ago

I was out for the 4th of July yesterday to even reply but yikes people were a bit trigger happy before doing the research that i was correct lol.

Crash Bandicoot didn't popularize Dynamic Difficulty Adjustement for nothing

roadkillers2637d ago

This had it? Theres a couple that had it, but I u ssd ually notice it.

TWB2637d ago

Surprisingly I didnt remember that Crash had it (aside from Aku Aku spawning if you died too often, or how additional checkpoints appeared), but remember reading that Spyro had a system called "Active Challenge Tuning" or something.

Neat little collection. The majority of Ataris games don’t hold up that well but there are some arcade/console games that I still enjoy. I’ll definitely get this and I’m glad I waited as I wouldn’t want to buy digital DLC for the first collection
