After having pricecut, 2 jrpg games, still it`s going down.
PS3 sales are stable.
Wii sales are also kinda low, compared to sales trend severals months ago.
PSP sales also got down, but that because in anticipation of new psp-3000 model.
DS doing great.
PS2 still have some power, was able to outsell x360. While it doesn`t compete wth other Sony console - ps3. =)

Sony's high tech new console that is suppose to move mountains and part seas (Based on fanboys expectations), is getting beaten by every console that is weaker that it. Not to mention, getting beat by it's older counterpart!

I'm glad all of these consoles are selling, but some people need to put the fanboy thing aside and just accept reality, and not try to spin everything to make something bad look good!

You love the Ps3 so much... do your part, and buy as many games as you can! Encourage your friends to buy a Ps3 and buy alot of games! But don't come to N4G where there are real gamers, and expect to change anyones mind about anything. Because we know what we want before it is even released!

The sooner them PS2 devs start making the games Japanese have loved on the PS3, the sooner the PS3 will start obliterating everything else in sales over there.

But with the state of Japanese development and the rising cost they are in a funky transition. Imagine how cheap it is to make PS2 games as opposed to PS3 titles currently. They slowly have to start the transition but with the Xbox 360 doing well and being cheaper to produce games on. we'll see what happens.

Only the BIG name titles sell well over there, besides the Wii +NDs games, again easier platform. Should be interesting sony not only needs to get more JRPG's but give m ore support as the rising cost of development in Japan is a serious problem. Especially if your game won't sell.

See, the trick is, in the past developers would just make a game and put it on a disc! But with rising cost, and the fact that publishers are scared to gamble on a game that could be a bust... Developers are releasing their games on XBL and PSN instead, to reduce the risk!

They are starting with mostly older or really cheap games. And if the outlook is good, they will release higher quality games in the future!

More RPGs are coming...to the 360. I've no idea about the PS3, but I know Square has a couple more for the 360 coming out before the end of the year, so I'd expect to see a few more blips along the way.
It's certainly interesting that the Japanese are suddenly getting interested in the console, I'd love to see what they think of Avatars and the like.

The fight is between the PS3 and the 360, not the PS2 and the PS3. The fact still remains that even at a lower price, the 360 was outsold by the PS2.

I'm not surprised because Sony still supports the PS2, which I find to be pretty amazing. At least they did not abandon the PS2 unlike a certain corporation who abandoned the original XBox. Sony always supports the last gen systems. They supported the PS1 still while the PS2 was out. They're still supporting the PS2 while the PS3 is out. The pace will pick up with the PS3 eventually because I smell a possible system seller in the horizon.

Many people said that the PS2 would never outsell the Dreamcast, among other things. But the PS2 became the first console to sell over a 100 million units. Sony can repeat the same success with the PS3 if they work extremely hard to secure 1st party titles and keep the games coming.

Once again, Japanese people don't just like rpgs. They like fighting games, and any games that allows you to use your imagination. With the positive reactions Little Big Planet is getting, I would not be surprised that it moves consoles in Japan.

This is sonys 4th machine in japan. The first two playstations sold in insanely high numbers in japan and the psp has sold a few as well.

so you have a brand name thats been going for 13 years and sold well in its heartland and one thats been going for around 6 years that never took off yet in the figures you oh so wanted to use to distract me from your first argument for the first half of the year show it sold a third that the tried and tested brand machine in its homeland did.

The PS2 is keeping things going for them. Games are still being made for the PS2 about as much as they are the PS3. In a way, I think that the PS2 is stunting the PS3s growth. Not to mention the price of the console.

Its a great console without a lot of lovely bells and whistles. But in lots of cases, people may not be ready for all of that. Over there in Japan, it seems like portable gaming and party/family games are what matters the most. And then the popular RPG releases.

Wow xbox is taking over in japan :sarc mode off: The ps3 outselling the xbox 360 in north america better than the 360 outselling ps3 in japan which is what i think is impressive considering the bias towards foriegn products in america and all ,only a lil bit longer and the ps3 will have over taken the 360 with its year or more lead depending in which country you lived in then what are the 360 fans going to say "we all knew the ps3 would win but 360 took alot of market share off them" or just plain deny it happened at all.Just enjoy your hollow victory lol the 360 isnt even doing that well if you open your blind fanboy eyes considering the price diffence and also that the "ps3 has no games" the ps3 is doing rather well and more so if thay have a price cut.
