"Nintendo were a bit late getting on the DLC train in the first place, but when they did the results were pleasantly surprising. Breath of the Wild has taken no lessons from their Mario Kart & Smash Bros. DLC successes, bending back into a cheap cash grab that just feels a bit scummy."
NE: "We're looking at every single Nintendo franchise on Switch and evaluating how they grew and changed during the Switch's life cycle."
The composer took to Twitter to share that he actually stepped back from the position in July 2023, though this is the first time he has publicly acknowledged it.
Polygon: "To get back to the way Ocarina made us feel, it was necessary to reject almost everything about it."
I generally agree with the author here. However, if I had to point out a single game as the 'anti-Breath of the Wild,' that would be Majora's Mask. Pretty much everything in that game is interconnected, relies on something that the player must have done previously, is timed, and can be considered a puzzle in itself.
but still considered the best of the seties.
i would have liked botw to be more like ocarina.
25 years from today whatever Zelda is out people would too be looking fondly at Breath of the Wild.
Ah the more simple times of the 2020s.
new pieces of armor, new difficulty mode and a masters trials which unlocks a reward for your master sword? Never thought that would be considered skimping out, that's a fair bit of content there for the first bit of DLC.
If you see it at $20 for just the content released today, then yes, it's bad.... but as a season pass, there is more to come...well, 1 more to be exact. If seen as $10 per pack, which is what it technically is, it's not so bad. Even better if you find an eshop giftcard on sale.
£20 for thee season pass is not bad at all for what they have given.
COD sell A! single weapon skin for £2 just for comparison.
I think some of the features should have been free, such as the hero's path mode and traveler's medallion. When I first heard about Master Mode I had thought that should have been originally included, but after hearing about some of the stuff they did with it I do think it's fair to include it in the DLC. The trail of the swords is actually pretty substantial (easily 2-4 hours if you beat it without dying). The extra armors are basically a skin pack that would be $4-6 on their own. On top of that this is just the first batch of DLC and the second batch has been suspected to be more substantial since they were first revealed.
$80 ($60 for game, $20 for Expansion) for the complete Breath of the Wild experience is more than fair. Stop being cheap, people.
