Star Wars Battlefront 2 Will Have Loot Crate Microtransactions, Upgradable Star Card Customization

Star Wars Battlefront 2's DLC may be free, but customization will be handled via loot crates.

UCForce2921d ago (Edited 2921d ago )

Yup, I knew there are going to be micro transactions. I completely hate it. Sure, people prefer that than the paid DLC and season pass, but I hate it even they are cosmetic or not. Paid DLC and Microtransactions are not my thing.

StuffAndThings2920d ago

When a game sequel removes a season pass its a sure thing it will be replaced with micro transactions but hopefully with this one they at least add more characters & their various costumes & dont be pricks

Krysis2920d ago

As long as loot crates can be earned reasonably through game play then whatever. But if it takes 15 multi-player matches to earn one then it's a no for me.

Blank2920d ago

Its EA we are talking about of course they will be pricks with the micro transactions.

Skull5212920d ago

I miss the old days where companies just made their game a bunch better with new stuff and never asked anything for it....

As the extreme with Battlefront, they want you to pay $120 for $15 worth of stuff with the promise that you'll get all this awesome stuff long after you have quit playing the game.

RememberThe3572919d ago

I have to admit the battlepack system in BF1 works pretty well. I still f'in hate micro transactions though.

Honestly in halo 5 it worked pretty well from my point of view. So if it works like that then I don't have a problem with it.

UCForce2919d ago

It's still unacceptable. There would be better solutions than paid DLC and Microtransaction. The loot system in every MP games are like gamble system which I hate it.

Brave_Losers_Unite2921d ago

Every game will have some RNG lootcrate bullshit. If only they made them easier to get in game...smh

ninsigma2920d ago

If only people would stop buying them.

XiNatsuDragnel2921d ago

No matter what Microtransactions are BS comestic or not.

GreenUp2920d ago

Team Fortress 2 says otherwise.

-Foxtrot2920d ago

Star Cards still...in this type of game. Just seems really silly.

Battlefront was known for being very skill based...now it's just another generic "what you've unlocked and is super powerful" online game.

Then the Loot Crate MT...Gee Whiz Pops

Nintendew2920d ago

Ready to say take these star cards and shove it up the Death Stars ass!

Summons752920d ago (Edited 2920d ago )

As long as they are cosmetic I don't care. Anyone with common sense knew this was coming the second they said there was no season pass and all the post-release content was free. Stick close to how Overwatch does it (one per level up and then a few weekly reward for winning X amount of games) and you will be golden...again as long as it's cosmetic only.

_-EDMIX-_2920d ago

Agreed.

I could care less about cosmetic stuff.

The community is staying together with all the maps and playsets, thats all I care about.

The 3060 RTX Phoenix is still $430.

anast8d ago

Yes, they are. It's probably why their PC runs this game so well...

edureboucas9d ago

Yes it is, do you want me to send you my dxdiag, sir?

DeityGamingPower6d ago

The RTX 3060 released in 2021. Go back to middle school. What a dumb article.

jznrpg19h ago

You go to the Terrance Howard school of math I see

anast8d ago

Exactly, the only thing 9 years old on that set up is probably the case.

edureboucas1h ago

Errr... I beg to differ. Everything but the GPU is 9 years old.

Hmmm interesting. Hopefully true, liking the slowly but surely partnership between the big 3. Just imagine all the xenoblade games officially on pc. I think mcsft going 3rd party but still making consoles fits them.

Kneetos26d ago

Xenoblade chronicles X is not there

Either removed or the picture shown was edited, but it is currently not there

NettosGameRoom25d ago

You can still view it using the internet archive!

This is good. Real good if Nintendo is smart to capitalize.

jznrpg25d ago

I would bet a lot of money it’s not happening
