And FFXIV is still outsold by ARMS. Good debut for Farpoint though.

Protagonist2170d ago

I guess that is one way to look at it.

I mean lets ignore it is an expansion pack (the second) and that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has sold over 3.5 million collectively, 350.000 alone in JP.

Neonridr2170d ago (Edited 2170d ago )

sure, or we could look at the fact that a FF game (expansion or not) was outsold by a new IP punching game on a system with a much smaller install base.

Nintendo advertises Arms day and night on TV.

That's one way to look at it.

Arms sales dropped almost 75% in the second week.

That's another way to look at it.

Geobros2171d ago

PS4 in top of hardware sales after long time. If we combine PS4 and pro has more sales than switch.

Neonridr2171d ago

I guess that is one way to look at it.

Switch is still facing some serious stock issues over there. Sales might not jump again until Splatoon hits, which will likely be accompanied by a decent amount of stock.

So last month in US PS4 was best selling console, and last week in Japan PS4 was best selling console. God job Sony! Imagine how PS4 will RAPE Switch next month when Dragon Quest XI drops. Then Monster Hunter World, Kingdom Hearts III, FF VII Remake,....

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2170d ago

Nope. Splatoon 2 releases before Dragon Quest XI and DQXI is also on 3DS. That will eat the PS4 sales.

Lime1232170d ago

Splatoon first week in Japan - 144k
Dragon Quest IX first week in Japan - 2,3 million

@Lime123

More 3DS's in Japan than there are PS4's.

KH3 and FF7 Remake.. so I guess we should meet back here in like 2019 to discuss the sales of those games when they release?

PS4 on multiple SKUs was the best selling console, Switch shortages are still rampant, especially in Japan. And a FF game (expansion) was outsold by a boxing game on Switch. Wait until games like Pokken Tournament, Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey, etc release. It won't even be close.

Lime1232170d ago

Horizon Zero Dawn - a new western IP - outsold ARMS - Nintendo game in Japan. Not looking good.

Lime1232170d ago

Splatoon 2 releases 8 days before Dragon Quest XI, still PS4 version of Dragon Quest XI is #1 on amazon Japan ATM, Splatoon 2 #4.

Kingdom Hearts III had E3 trailer, and will have new trailer next month.

Neonridr2169d ago

@Lime123 - just stop buddy. Nintendo owns Japan. Just look at total software sales and it's easy to see.

71% drop for ARMS? Not looking good.

Prince_TFK2170d ago (Edited 2170d ago )

Lol I'm sure Nintendo and Switch owners are shaking in their boots by this drop in sale.

Neonridr2170d ago

yet still sold the most software for the given week.

Lime1232170d ago

Yea, I'm so stupid. Sub 30k is fantastic result for ARMS.

Neonridr2169d ago

it sold over 130k in 9 days (100k in 2 days last week). How many Japanese gamers own Switches do you think? Less than a million.
