Nintendo Apologises for Switch Stock Shortages; More Shipments Coming in July and August

What needs to happen is stop letting stores sell them to scalpers. There are tons of them on Ebay and Amazon stores and whatnot. Stop supplying stores at all, instead set up a direct buy where people buy buy it and then you send them direct to the consumer, Use address and name to limit it and get these in peoples homes instead of resellers hands.

Reminds me of concert tickets, impossible to buy direct but easy from secondary sites with a mark up. Limit the Switch to 1 per customer.

The shortage stems from Nintendo not being prepared. They overstocked the Wii U and got burned. Nintendo continues to prove to the world they do not know how to meet demand.

it's because these geniuses think nintendo uses Star Trek replicators to pump out Switches and the parts required to make it. they believe the same thing happened with the PSVR shortage last christmas and then they found out there WAS AN ACTUAL ISSUE WITH THE PRODUCTION of the PSVR lenses/display component.

seriously, where do you get your information? they didn't overstock the WiiU. there was an initial launch shortage as is usual with any new gaming item during the major holiday season. it then turned to a surplus of units because people stop buying the WiiU since it just wasn't a good system. i personally got annoyed with the tablet/tv screen interface and the horrible tablet design as i held it to game. the games were good, but that tablet controller was simply nonsense.
