God of War director explains why entire game has no camera cuts

Its clear that him and many XB fans can't really keep defending a publisher that doesn't really make XB exclusives anymore, so your seeing many of them realize this.

I mean, how many years should someone wait defending a company to get content?

At some point they need to actually PLAY GAMES! As much as I like Sony and PS series, if they stopped making exclusives, kept making the same things and XB had exclusives and MS was pumping out new IP, I'd buy it too.

I mean....why miss out on games?

We all talk about this "war" but in all honesty, we are all still gamers. If MS today come out and was like "We are putting games on PS4, Switch and PS5 and Nintendo's next system going forward, XB will be for multiplatform games going forward"

Who on earth would keep wasting money buying a XB KNOWING DAMN WELL they could have it ALL on PS4, PS5, Switch, Nintendo next etc?

He wasted money on a system with the belief of "exclusives"....they are now all coming on PC, so I get that he might feel a bit of buyers remorse.

Moldy and many others might simply be realizing that it makes no sense to back a company not backing you, they are going to take a interest in stuff like God Of War, Days Gone, Horizon etc, its clear someone is offering something they want.

Probably not since the PC is much like the PS4 and Xbox as far as content and how you play games are concerned, looking at the Switch instead but Sony does have some great games like this one.

I'm so happy Cory & the team are going this direction with the series. I believe this version of Kratos will be something really special. Not to take anything away from Kratos from the previous games. He was such a bad*** character, and I loved that about him all those years ago. But I'm genuinely more excited to see this older/father side of him, and see how the relationship with him and his son unfolds throughout the story of the game.
I loved GoW 1-2, but the 3rd game, for me, was a real letdown. By the time Ascension released I felt the series was real stale & needed a fresh. This looks wonderful "in my opinion"

To all of those gamers out there, who aren't happy about the new direction in story & gameplay for this new game, I really hope you at least give it a chance.

SSM are taking a real risk with this hugely successful series, and I for one, applaud them.

The psp ones were very good as well as gow 2. Gow 3 killed it in gameplay and set pieces but had weird pacing at the end and a poor story compared to 2.

I agree with all of that. GoW 3 was fun, but as soon as I beat it I never wanted to touch it again, different from 1&2.
Shoutout to Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. Those two had stories as good as the first(which is under appreciated.)

I honestly thought 3 was miles above the first two. The original trilogy was fine imho, it is Ascension that showed that the series needed a reboot. Despite the combat, and puzzles variety, it got stale very quickly.

I hope that they have a great relationship and it plays off each other as you said like TLoU. If they can have this great emotional relationship then awesome. If they have that and don't kill him I'm ok with that but I would like the next one to be his son you play as. I just personally think Kratos' role has come to an end and should be changed to someone else. Then again if they make it to where he dies then the son will probably just take revenge out and go kill the gods. Much like, well, God of war.

Shenmue brought a whole new level of interactive cutscenes with QTE. Even though they were prompts, they still made you feel like those buttons gave you direct control of the actions taking place. God of War upped it with pure bad assery

He's not black. He WAS voiced by T.C. Carson who is black (of Living Single fame). What we are probably seeing is the typical olive skin prevalent in the Mediterranean combined with a tan. (see the tans of the movie 300) Now that the story has moved to Norse territory, he is mich more pale. Which makes sense because they've moved farther away from the equator...where the people tend to be olive to brown skinned.

I'm Mixed my mother is black & my father was white & as a baby i took more after my father then my mother but as i got older my skin got much darker. so biologically it is possible for his son & daughter to take more after their mother then their father.

It feels like GoW to me because Kratos is God of War. it was another character I might have been concerned, but this is not the case. The gameplay changes and new setting are very welcomed. The game will still be hack an slash and also fast paced, but without the blades.

The sneak peak we got in the lastest trailers hints at a still fast paced combat, but some still seem stuck with the E3 2016 teaser

It seems like you are having a hard time with the transition from the old Kratos to a new one. That is the risk that they are taking. They want to explore what happened to Kratos after all of the anger and vengeance. That is interesting to some people. They want to explore some more nuance about Kratos as a character and not just continue the lineage of him just being a bad-ass. Remember, he was once a family man before all of the chaos ensued. IMO, they are playing that against the idea that WE as gamers have matured alomg with the game. We see things differently now than we did when experiencing the first game. Some of us have families now. Which, imo, creates an innate ability to relate with this new Kratos.

Because "reboots" are attempting to start the same movie or game over. It's the same characters, but played in a different way. It's been done to death from tv to movies to games. The original name creates the link that we all know to the content that may be anywhere from slightly to vastly different.

I like the look of the game but the combat looks like ryse 2. The over-the-shoulder cam just looks weird in a hack and slash. And I just hope the daddy simulator stuff is kept to a minimum. I never took GoW to be the series where you spend time in walking cutscenes.

He's darker because he was in Greece and most of the stuff took place in what seemed like Summer or Spring. That takes a group of people who are traditionally white to olive skinned and gives them all tans. Go to any beach in Greece during that time and you will see many people of that particular hue. (by the way, I lived in Athens for 3 1/2 years and saw it first hand. I'm a lighter skinned black person and I've never had a tan like the one that I had in Greece.)
As for the "change", it's just moving him farther away from the equator....meaning less melanin needed for protection. (i.e., no tan) So, he's much closer to his natural skin color...and possibly slightly more pale. Melanocytes activate and deactivate depending on the amount of sunlight protection needed.
